Director, Website Marketing

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is the "Official Sales & Marketing Organization of Greater Miami and the Beaches."  Our business is about selling Greater Miami and the Beaches as a premier convention and leisure travel destination. 

Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Advertising & Digital Marketing, the Website Marketing Director will be responsible for managing the GMCVB's website as well as managing staff, website strategy and agency resources to update and maintain MiamiandBeaches.com and other GMCVB web properties. Develops programs to ensure optimum website usability, content strategy and management, targeting and personalization, website analytics and quality assurance, to deliver the GMCVB’s key business goals – increasing leisure visitors, meetings and conventions in Miami and the Beaches. Supervises the efforts of the content team and collaborates with the GMCVB’s IT team to ensure infrastructure security and with company stakeholders to quickly translate needs into written business requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Leads website upgrades and enhancements for MiamiandBeaches.com, managing agency/agencies and staff to deliver programs on time and on budget.

  2. Has a deep understanding of digital marketing trends, website usability, and research and analytics tools in order to make recommendations regarding website design and enhancements.

  3. Establishes or directs the creation of website roadmaps, project plans, testing and targeting plans, and supervises testing and implementation of new site features.

  4. Manages the technical team’s development pipeline, and collaborates with the IT and technical teams to ensure the website infrastructure is secure and systems are up-to-date.

  5. Supervises the efforts of the content team to ensure articles, images and video content are fresh, relevant and drive increased site traffic, engagement, and clicks to partners.

  6. Collaborates with company and partner stakeholders in order to quickly translate needs into written business requirements, new site features or web support pages.

  7. Assures quality site performance and web solutions, developing and completing quality control test plans, managing quality assurance partners and maintaining project and technical documentation.

  8. Manages the website enhancement and related budgets, monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving actions.

  9. Manages research, dashboard creation and website-related stakeholder reporting for the department.

  10. Maintains job knowledge by tracking technology and marketing advances, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional media, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.


Qualifications & Knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of website usability, content strategy and management, targeting and personalization, website analytics and quality assurance, to deliver the GMCVB’s key business goals – increasing leisure visitors, meetings and conventions in Miami and the Beaches.
  • 5+ years of website management experience, and at least 3 years of management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, technology or related degree
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics or other measurement tools to deliver a quality web experience.
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization best practices
  • Knowledge of project management tools
  • Microsoft Office
  • HTML a plus
