Associate Vice President – Advertising & New Media

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau is a sales and marketing organization whose mission is to market Greater Miami & the Beaches across the globe as a premier Vacation & Convention destination.

This position exists to lead the strategic development, implementation and integration of all aspects of traditional and digital advertising and related marketing programs; Develop New Media strategies including website development, internet-based marketing programs and social media strategies; Manage all aspects of the Advertising and New Media Division and provide senior leadership in the objectives of the Marketing & Tourism Department.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Advertising or Marketing
• Professional Certification or Master’s degree a plus.
• Minimum ten years advertising/marketing experience on client or agency side with a minimum of 5 concurrent years in eMarketing.
• Minimum five years, management experience with supervisory responsibilities
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and comparable software programs
• Knowledgeable in website and supportive IT programs.
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.
• Good and consistent attendance.
• Demonstrated technical competence.
• Ability to maintain composure under stress.

Basic Responsibilities:
• Assists in the development and enforcement of departmental policies
• Assists in defining the mission and goals for the division
• Keeps abreast of and makes recommendations for technology for the department
• May participate in hiring decisions
• May recommend salary changes
• Prudent fiscal responsibility of budget line items on a divisional basis
• Committee participation, both in the community and on a departmental basis
• Creates and submits reports
• Makes presentations
• Analyzes moderately complex data and schematics
