Joan Nathan: My Life In Recipes
May 15, 2024
Starting: 7:30 PM
Join Joan Nathan, the award-winning authority on Jewish cuisine, for an evening exploring her new cookbook, My Life in Recipes: Food, Family, and Memories. This author talk takes place on Wednesday, May 15 at The Hub at Temple Beth Am.
Nathan's latest book is more than just a collection of recipes. It's a personal journey that intertwines her family history with her lifelong exploration of Jewish cuisine around the world. Readers will be transported from her childhood in post-war America to her experiences living in Paris, Israel and Washington D.C. Through engaging storytelling, Nathan weaves together tales of marriage, motherhood and a successful career as a food writer, all centered around the joy of food and shared meals.
The book doesn't skimp on the recipes. Nathan offers over 100 dishes, both classic favorites like roast chicken and matzah ball soup, and exciting new discoveries like Fragrant Spiced Chicken with Rice and Moroccan Chicken with Couscous.
Following the discussion, Nathan will be available to sign copies of her book. Don't miss this chance to learn about Jewish culinary traditions, savor the stories behind the recipes and gain inspiration for your own kitchen adventures.
The free event is co-presented by Books & Books and Temple Beth Am, in association with the Alper JCC and Miami Beach JCC.
