Art Basel is the mostly highly anticipated event of year in Miami and if you plan to attend, it’s never too early to book your accommodations. These hotels—many of which boast impressive art collections in their own right—will put you in the heart of the action. Whether they’re new to the scene or have a history of hosting impressive art installations and parties, these hotels promise a good time and a comfortable stay during Miami Art Week.
The Miami Beach EDITION
The Miami Beach EDITION proves to be one of the hottest spots in town and in the past has hosted the exclusive W Magazine party and a killer lineups all week at Basement nightclub. The beautiful lifestyle hotel is the epitome of sophisticated modern luxury with restaurant concepts by Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, a lavish poolscape and a novel approach to nightlife, which includes both an ice skating rink and four-lane bowling alley. The rooms, in all white and natural oak tones, are tranquil abodes for an escape from the frenetic pace of the week.
Soho Beach House
How do you gain access to one of Miami’s most exclusive members-only clubs? Book a room at their hotel. Soho Beach House is Miami’s outpost of the private club founded in London and catering to those in the entertainment and creative industries (read: celebrities). Expect a slew of hyper-exclusive parties attended by A-listers. If you’re savvy enough to snag a room at this cozy and chic hotel, you might just be savvy enough to get into a party or two.
W South Beach
A perennial favorite amongst celebrities, W South Beach has the perfect digs for entertaining. Whether it’s a late night DJ set at Wall or an exclusive dinner at The Dutch, the W is sure to be buzzing during Art Basel. Their lobby bar Living Room is an excellent spot for a cocktail between the fairs and it boasts an impressive contemporary art collection with works by Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat and George Condo, amongst others, on rotation. All rooms are luxuriously appointed with oceanfront balconies.
Sagamore, The Art Hotel
Owned by longtime art collectors the Taplins, Sagamore, The Art Hotel is a novel venue to showcase their diverse collection. At no time does the spotlight shine brighter at the Sagamore than during their long held Art Basel Sunday brunch, attended by the likes of Martha Stewart. The hotel’s central South Beach location coupled with relatively affordable room rates in a spacious all-suite format, make this an ideal launching point for Art Basel exploration.

Located in the heart of the South Beach scene, 1 Hotel will no doubt have an impressive lineup for Art Basel. JW Marriott Marquis
For a hotel off the beach, the JW Marriott Marquis in downtown Miami puts you in close proximity to the Wynwood scene and the art fairs in midtown. It’s also proven to be a destination for art consistently producing provocative Art Basel exhibitions and events. In the past, they've collaborated with Christie’s and the Andy Warhol Museum for an exhibition and sale featuring rarely seen pieces by Warhol. Home to db Bistro by Daniel Boulud and luxurious rooms with sweeping city views, it’s an excellent destination during Art Basel.
