They are also conducting experiments to see if the filter-feeding rays are impacted negatively by microplastics, tiny pieces of toxic trash that float in the ocean.

Miami will get wild when the ninth-annual New Times' Brew at the Zoo takes over Zoo Miami for an evening filled with beer, music, fun, and wild things. From 8 to 11 p.m., sample more than 100 beers and spirits from dozens of distillers and breweries from around the world. In addition, Brew at the Zoo will feature live music and encounters with some of Zoo Miami's resident creatures. A portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit Zoo Conservation.

The Miami Writers Institute is an annual creative writing conference, produced by the Miami Book Fair Year-Round and takes place over four days every May.
The conference features intensive writing workshops with bestselling authors, craft talks, publishing seminars, manuscript consultations with a literary agent and happy hour events.
