Miami Sports Month: April 1 - 30

The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition: March 17 - April 10
The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition hosts a variety of indoor and outdoor events, including the Youth Fair on March 17 through April 10. It's the largest fair in Florida and includes more than 90 carnival rides, livestock and agricultural competitions, live concerts and more. Tickets start at $10.
Miami Open: March 21 - April 3
The top tennis players in the world compete at the Miami Open presented by Itaú tennis tournament each year at the Crandon Park Tennis Center on Key Biscayne. This year multi-platinum recording artists Duran Duran will perform at the Miami Open on the evening of Friday, April 1, following the men’s semifinal matches. Ticket prices vary.
O, Miami Poetry Festival: April 1 - 30
Each spring, O, Miami attempts to deliver a poem to every single person in Miami-Dade County. Sponsored by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the festival features more than 40 events and 20 projects throughout the city.
Miami Riverday Festival: April 2
Cruise down the Miami River on free boat rides, enjoy live music performances and learn more about the Lummas Park Historic District at the Miami Riverday Festival. Event admission is free.
South Beach Triathlon: April 3

Latino trendsetters and entrepreneurs unite for Hispanicize Week 2016 at the InterContinental in Downtown Miami. Registration starts at $225.
Miami Dance Festival: April 4 - May 24
At the Miami Dance Festival hosted by the Momentum Dance Company, watch inspiring performances at venues throughout Miami and celebrate the art of movement and dance. Ticket prices vary.
Junior League of Miami Showhouse: April 7-24
The Junior League of Miami has partnered with renowned interior designers to transform the historic Kampong in Coconut Grove into the Miami Showhouse. Sponsors include Mercedes-Benz of Coral Gables and Cutler Bay, as well as EWM Realty International, a Berkshire Hathaway Affiliate. All proceeds raised through sponsorship and ticket sales will directly fund programs that help women and children at risk in the community. Tickets start at $35 per person.
The Longines Global Champions Tour: April 7 - 9
Talented riders and their horses will showcase their jumping skills right on the sands of South Beach for the Longines Global Champions Tour. Visitors will have free access to seating around the arena on a first come, first serve basis.
TransAtlantic Festival: April 8 - 9
Hosted by The Rhythm Foundation, the TransAtlantic Festival features international music from the Atlantic Rim. Experience electronic dance music culture at the North Beach Bandshell on Miami Beach. Tickets start at $43 per person.
Miami Beach Gay Pride: April 8 - 10
Featuring a vibrant parade with more than 80,000 participants, the Miami Beach Gay Pride Festival is a weekend full of non-stop celebration. Highlights include the High Heel Race, Gay Pride Parade, Miami Pride Cruise and parties at area nightclubs. Ticket prices vary depending on the event.
Miami Cattle Show: April 15 - 17
Cows in Miami? Absolutely. Attracting 50,000 attendees each year, the Miami International Agricultural, Horse and Cattle Show is held at the Ronald Reagan Equestrian Center at Tropical Park. View live auctions, cattle and horse shows, live music performances, a car show, food trucks and an interactive FarmVille exhibit with live farm animals.
Miami Rum Festival: April 15 - 17
What better place for rum connoisseurs to unite, then in Miami? The Miami Rum Renaissance Festival will feature rums from the Caribbean and all over the region. Tickets start at $75.
Deering Estate Festival of the Arts: April 16
A one-day event celebrating literary, visual and performance art, the Deering Estate Festival of the Arts features local artists and unique performances. General admission is $12 for adults and $7 for youth ages 4 to 14.
eMerge Americas: April 18 - 19
Join more than 10,000 entrepreneurs and tech enthusiasts at eMerge Americas, a conference that focuses on how technology and innovation are disrupting industries. Conference passes start at $55.
Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival: April 22 - May 1
Designed to educate the public about LGBT experiences, the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival takes place in various locations around Miami and Miami Beach. The 10-day event features more than 65 films. Ticket prices vary depending on the screening.
Redland Blues & Barbecue Festival: April 23
Sing the blues and chow down on traditional slow-cooked barbecue at the Redland Blues & Barbecue Festival at the Fruit & Spice Park in Homestead. Family-friendly activities include pony rides and games for the kids. General admission is $8 per person and children 11 and under are free.
Miami Sportfishing Tournament: April 23
The world's best fisherman head to Miami to compete for a prize of $30,000 at the Yamaha Contender Miami Sportfish Tournament on Miami Beach. Join in the fun at the dock party and baywalk festival at the Miami Beach Marina. The dock party is free and open to the public.
SoFlo Cake & Candy Expo: April 23 - 24
If you have a sweet tooth, then the SoFlo Cake & Candy expo is for you. Join industry professionals and hobby bakers at this conference at the Miami Airport Convention Center. Tickets start at $20.
Aids Walk Miami: April 24
Get your heart pumping for a good cause at the annual Aids Walk Miami. Taking place on Miami Beach, the event is the city’s largest HIV/AIDS awareness fundraiser.
The Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run: April 28
Taking strides for better health at the Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run. Unlike most races of it’s kind that occur in the early morning, this 5k run/walk happens after work in Downtown at Bayfront Park.
2016 Miami International Jazz Festival: April 28 - 30
Groove to the smooth sounds of live jazz at the Miami International Jazz Festival, presented by The City of Miami and the Miami Dade Department of Cultural Affairs. Tickets start at $20.
The largest annual event of its kind, PhilanthroFest celebrates philanthropy and the arts in a carnival-style atmosphere on downtown’s Bayfront Park. Enjoy performances under a big-top tent and carnival games for the whole family.
