Don’t miss these Miami events in the month of December.
With the holidays in full swing, the month of December offers a number of family-friendly events to celebrate the season.
Santa’s Enchanted Forest: Nov. 3 - Jan. 8
The largest holiday theme park in the world, Santa’s Enchanted Forest is happening at Tropical Park. Enjoy more than three million Christmas lights, carnival rides, shows, games and a 92-foot tall Christmas tree.
Art Basel Miami Beach and Miami Art Week: Dec. 1-4
Held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Art Basel Miami Beach draws more than 73,000 art dealers, artists, collectors and aficionados to Miami during the event and surrounding satellite fairs, held each year in the beginning of December.
Deering Holiday Wonderland: Dec. 1 – 31
Tour the elegant Deering Estate as it’s festively decorated for the holidays. Enjoy story time and photos with Santa on Dec. 10 and 17 and there's holiday bay cruise on Dec. 18. Admission is $12 for adults and $7 for children ages 4 to 14.
The Nutcracker: Dec. 2 – 30
Miami offers plenty of opportunities to watch live performances of the Nutcracker. Catch a show at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center on Dec. 2-3, Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Dec. 9-11, Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts on Dec. 17-24, or the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater on Dec. 30.
Pinecrest Gardens Nights of Lights: Dec. 16 – Jan. 1
Pinecrest Gardens transforms into a holiday wonderland illuminated by thousands of spectacular and sparkling holiday lights. The event presented by Live Like Bella, a foundation for childhood cancer, features pictures with Santa, midway rides, Christmas music, pony rides and Banyan Bowl performances on select dates featuring story tellers, the Nutcracker ballet and more.
Sounds of the Season with the New World Symphony: Dec. 17
The New World Symphony's Sounds of the Season celebrates the holidays and offering audience members an opportunity to gather and share the music with friends and family. Enjoy selections from a variety of cultural heritages on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 at SoundScape Park at the New World Center on Miami Beach.
Miami Beach Bowl: Dec. 19
The third edition of the Miami Beach Bowl college postseason football game will be played on Monday, Dec. 21, 2:30 p.m. at Marlins Park. The game will feature a top team from the American Athletic Conference against a team from Conference USA and will be televised on ESPN and broadcast by ESPN Radio.
Capital One Orange Bowl: Dec. 30
The 2016 college football playoff game at the Capital One Orange Bowl will take place at Hard Rock Stadium on Dec. 30, 2016 at 8 p.m. The Orange Bowl Committee was created in 1935 with the mission of generating tourism for South Florida through an annual football game and supporting events. This is a game you won't want to miss!
New Year’s Eve: Dec. 31
Every year Miami offers a wide variety of New Year’s Eve parties and celebrations, like the City of Miami Beach New Year's Eve Celebration featuring fireworks at midnight and this year the Fontainebleau is hosting pop sensation Justin Bieber for an electric poolside performance. The celebration continues all night long with Grammy Award winning producer Skrillex at LIV Nightclub inside Fontainebleau and Story Nightclub presents Marshmello New Years celebration right down the street.
