Scare yourself silly this Halloween with Miami’s best nighttime ghost tours.
Looking for a spooktacular way to celebrate the Halloween season? Nothing gets you in the Halloween spirit like haunted mansions, spooky trails and scary cemeteries. Put on your walking shoes on and head out for a ghost tour this Halloween.
Miami a number of popular ghost tours that offer tantalizing tales about local history, spine tingling ghost stories and possibly even some eerie paranormal activity--if you’re lucky.
Book a tour at one of these three popular ghost tours and get your scare on.
HistoryMiami Cemetery Tour
Historian Dr. Paul George from HistoryMiami (1800 NE 2nd Ave.) will lead you through Miami’s oldest cemetery located in Downtown. Here, you’ll find grave stones of notable people including Julia Tuttle, one of the city’s original founders. Your tour will also include visiting the resting places of Native American Jack Tigertail, whose murder was never solved and a tomb of a woman buried within the concrete.
The tour takes place Oct. 30 from 8 to 10 p.m. Cemetery tours are also offered throughout the year. Tickets are $30 or $20 for HistoryMiami museum members. Visit HistoryMiami.org for tickets and more information.
Ghost Tours at Deering Estate
The historic home of the late Charles Deering (16701 SW 72nd Ave.) opens its doors for two exciting ghost tours offered just in time for Halloween. The “Historic Ghost Stories Tour” includes a nighttime walk through the property as a ghoulish guide gives extensive background about the haunted estate along with past spirit sightings. This tour is offered on select dates from 7 to 9 p.m. and costs $30 per person.
If you’re looking for an overnight scare, the Deering Estate Spookover is an excellent option. This middle-of-the-night tour (11 p.m. to 4 a.m.) will showcase scary at its best (or worst), with real paranormal investigators communicating to the spirits who haunt the grounds. Tickets are $65 per person.

The Original Ghost Tour of Coconut Grove
Explore Coconut Grove, Miami’s charming, tropical neighborhood with the guides from GhostGrove.com (3500 Main Hwy., Coconut Grove), where you’ll learn about the many spirits and hauntings that have taken place throughout the city’s storied past. Fun for the whole family, this nighttime walking tour showcases the oldest marked grave in the area while also featuring cemeteries and old inns that are known for active paranormal activity.
Tours are offered most weekend nights starting at 7:45 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 786-236-9979. Tickets are $26 for adults, $17 for kids (ages 7-12).
