Miami is the perfect place for a girlfriend getaway.
When you’re in the mood for a girls weekend, there’s nothing better than a fun-filled getaway to Miami. To make sure you and your gal pals know what to do and where to go, take a look at our guide below and plan a weekend that’s sure to please.
Where to Stay
In Miami, there are hundreds of fabulous hotels to choose from; but for a girls getaway, there are a few that standout from the pack. For something smaller and low-key, opt for a boutique hotel like The Betsy – which boasts the rooftop Betsy Wellness and Garden Spa – or for a spot that’s a tad more luxurious, SoFi’s casual-chic Sense Beach House.
Want a hotel with more of a social scene? The Clevelander, on Ocean Drive, is one giant party, while larger mega-hotels like the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, W South Beach or the SLS South Beach are known for their large crowds, glamorous vibes and beautiful people-watching.
Speaking of glamour, places like the opulent, Asian-inspired Setai Miami Beach or all-white Delano Hotel are sure to leave you and your girlfriends feeling like the A-listers you are.
What to Do
During the day, gather your girls and treat yourselves to massages and facials at the iconic Spa at Viceroy, or perhaps Lapis Spa, at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.
Of course, when the sun’s out in Miami, everyone’s by the water. Get your sunscreen and tan at the Viceroy pool, go to the beach, head to the National Hotel – Miami’s longest infinity pool – or go to Hyde Beach’s “Swim Club Saturday” for a pool party with hot DJ’s.
Want to go shopping? Walk down Lincoln Road, or get up early and head further north to Sawgrass Mall for designer outlets.
If you’re art enthusiasts, head to the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) for interesting art and bayfront views.
When the sun goes down, end your day the best way you know how – dancing – either at Bâoli, Mynt or LIV.
Where to Eat and Drink
Every weekend in Miami, girls love their brunch. For two of the best, head to La Mar, at the Mandarin Oriental Miami, for a la carte Peruvian food and its signature tower of sweets, or start your beach day with mimosas and people-watching at Nikki Beach’s lavish Sunday brunch.
For lunch, hit Seaspice for its yacht-filled harbor and beautiful people-watching, get idyllic views at Crazy About You, or grab Cuban food at Larios on the Beach.
If you’re in Miami on a Thursday, combine your dinner and party with Villa Azur’s “Thursday Night Dinner Party.”
On any other night of the week, indulge in dinner at Juvia, on Lincoln Road, or Hakkasan, at Fontainebleau Miami Beach and get after-dinner cocktails at Living Room South Beach or Bistrot Bagatelle.
