Florida Dance Festival

For dance enthusiasts in South Florida, early summer means the return of the annual Florida Dance Festival. A well-known dance training program, the Florida Dance Festival encourages choreographers and performers as well as dance instructors and students to experiment with and explore dance movements through dance classes, workshops and public performances. Classes offered through the Florida Dance Festival focus on a variety of dance styles, such as ballet, modern dance, tap, hip hop, flamenco and Afro-Brazilian repertory. Students registered in the Florida Dance Festival training program may also enroll in such classes as Pilates and partnering and composition. The Florida Dance Festival includes several public performances, among them a faculty concert and a finale program.

The Florida Dance Festival is a presentation of the Florida Dance Association, a nonprofit arts group founded in 1972.

Florida Dance Festival Dates
The Florida Dance Festival will be on hiatus in Summer of 2009. The next Florida Dance Festival is scheduled for June 16 - June 26, 2010.
