Miami Book Fair International
Every fall, the Miami Book Fair International brings together hundreds of published authors and booksellers along with thousands upon thousands of book-lovers. The result is the year’s most exciting literary event in South Florida and the largest book fair in the United States, the Miami Book Fair.
Among the chief attractions of the Miami Book Fair International is the Congress of Authors, which features presentations by more than 300 writers. Many of the authors appearing at the Miami Book Fair have been recognized with such literary awards as the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award and the O’Henry Award.
For bibliophiles, the Miami Book Fair International is a dream come true. The weekend-long street fair at the Miami Book Fair offers more than one million books for sale, while the Florida book festival’s Antiquarian Annex features 10,000 collectibles, among them signed first editions, vintage postcards and antique maps.
Other Miami Book Fair International highlights include a Children’s Alley, with arts and crafts and storytelling geared towards the younger set, and the International Pavilions, a temporary “global village” featuring the literature, fine arts and traditions of countries from around the world.
The Miami Book Fair International is a program of the Florida Center for the Literary Arts at Miami Dade College. The 2008 Book Fair will be from 11/09/08 to 11/16/08.
