Miami City Ballet

Miami Arts & Culture

Founded by former New York City Ballet dancer Edward Villella in 1986, the Miami City Ballet continues to shine as one of America's premier dance companies. Although the company's repertoire consists mainly of George Balanchine's works, previous productions include the works of Twyla Tharp, Mark Morris, and Jerome Robbins in addition to classical ballets such as “Don Quixote” and “Gisele”. Featuring an ensemble of over 55 dancers, the Miami City Ballet regularly tours both internationally and domestically.

Currently the Miami City Ballet is housed at the Ophelia & Juan Js Roca Center in Miami Beach, Florida. Designed by Arquitectioncia, the facility houses rehearsal studios, offices, and the ballet school. Operated by the Miami City Ballet, the Miami City Ballet School trains students based on the routine created by Edward Villella when he was a dancer in New York. Students at this prestigious academy strive to become members of the exclusive Miami City Ballet. Experience arts and culture first hand at the Miami City Ballet!
