Home to one of the country’s best resort golf courses, Aventura is a haven for golfers.

Aventura is known as a shopper's paradise with Aventura Mall's recent $214 million expansion, but if you’re looking for a little on-the-links leisure, you'll find Aventura is also a golf lover's paradise.

Aventura is home to one of the country’s best resort golf courses, Turnberry Isle. This is one the city’s premier golf resorts, boasting two 18-hole championship golf courses, as well as a luxurious spa and three of the area's best restaurants. It’s also conveniently located across the street from Aventura Mall, so a day of golf can easily involve more than just a round on the links.

Two Premier Golf Courses

Home to both the par 72 Soffer and par 70 Miller Courses, Turnberry Isle offers a total of 36-holes for golfers to traverse, creating endless variety and challenge. They’re consistently ranked amongst the best resort golf courses by Golfweek magazine. Both were originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and have been reimagined by Raymond Floyd with signature features including clever doglegs and strategically placed water features along the rolling green’s contoured fairways. The courses are available to members of the Golf Club at Turnberry Isle Miami and hotel guests for a greens fee.

For those interested in improving their game, Turnberry offers both private instruction and group clinics. Led by PGA Director of Instruction Raymond Boone, you’ll learn from the masters through video and Trackman golf swing analysis and gain vital on-course instruction to keep your game competitive. If you’re traveling with a group, you can customize a private clinic with a minimum of four people. There are also a number of regularly scheduled clinics throughout the week, including Junior Golf Clinics for the youngsters on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

As a full service golf resort, Turnberry Isle boasts a driving range and putting green, as well as electric golf carts with GPS. If you’re traveling without clubs, you can rent premium Callaways directly from the onsite Pro Shop.

Three Unique Dining Experiences

Turnberry Isle is home to a pair of restaurants helmed by celebrity chefs: Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak and Scott Conant’s Corsair. The latter is also the site of the golf course’s 19th Watering Hole for post-golf cocktails or Sunday brunch with a back patio overlooking the greens. Corsair serves up a modern menu of mouth-watering Italian fare with crave-worthy dishes like smoked pork ravioli or the Bolognese.

Bourbon Steak is consistently ranked one of the city’s top steakhouses and is best enjoyed for dinner post-golf once you’ve cleaned up. Known for its decadent duck fat fries, prime cuts of meat and stellar wine cellar, this is a special occasion restaurant perfect for celebrating a winning day on the greens.

A more casual option is the resort’s poolside Laguna Grill with a selection of salads, sandwiches and burgers, as well as an excellent kid’s menu. It’s a great place to reunite with family for lunch after a morning of golf.

Premier Resort Amenities

While the resort is an oasis for golfers, it also offers plenty of other amenities for the discerning traveler. Make it a well-rounded visit by taking advantage of the hotel’s spa, fitness center and swimming pools.

There is nothing like a deep tissue sports massage after a day of golfing, so book a service at the spa at Turnberry Isle for after your game. The Quirogolf massage even makes use of golf balls for a deep body massage addressing the four pillars: relaxation, warming the muscles, treating individual sections and flexibility. The 3,650-square-foot fitness center is open 24-hours a day with Life Fitness equipment, a spinning studio, aerobics studio and private and group classes.

The resort also has two swimming pools, one for splashing and playtime and the other for total relaxation. The 7,500-square-foot Laguna Pool is ideal for families of all ages with its Lazy River and 35-foot high water slide, as well as a hot tub and toddler’s wading pool. The Cascata Pool, by contrast, is designed in a sophisticated Mediterranean style, making unwinding here after a morning of golf a cinch.
