This eco-habitat is full of wildlife, marinas and airboats.
South Miami-Dade County enjoys one of the world's most unique habitats. Parks, nature trails, exotic fruit stands and marinas make Southwest Miami-Dade a nature enthusiast's paradise.
Two spectacular national parks, Biscayne National Park and Everglades National Park, offer natural beauty, tranquility and teeming wildlife. The Everglades and surrounding parks contain acres and acres of majestic natural trails as well as full-service marinas, campsites and attractions like airboats. Fishing, boating, snorkeling and bird-watching are just a few of the many nature-based activities for which the area is known.
Attractions have a distinct character - fun, fascinating and unique. In the Redland, visit the Fruit & Spice Park to see - and taste - exotic tropical that grow and thrive here in South Florida, or visit Knaus Berry Farm or one of the neighboring local farms for winter strawberry picking, homemade cinnamon rolls, strawberry ice cream and milkshakes. Many local nurseries grow orchids, flowers and plants for commercial distribution.
