As Miami’s food scene continues to evolve, notable chefs and restauranteurs are looking to get a piece of the action. Celebrity chefs serve up every buzz term from molecular gastronomy to comfort food.
James Beard Award-winning chef/restaurateur Michael Schwartz opened his flagship restaurant, Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink in Miami’s Design District in 2007. Since that time, the chef has opened a number of successful restaurants across Miami and in the Caribbean.
Another winner of the prestigious James Beard Award, Michelle Bernstein is a Miami local that’s achieved international acclaim.

With restaurants open across America, Michael Mina has developed a successful portfolio of dining concepts, including several locations in Miami.

Achieving numerous accolades including Restauranteur of the Year awards, Stephen Starr has mastered the art of opening popular restaurants. The Continental Miami is located next to Aloft South Beach and is a 70s-style diner.
Named one of America’s Best New Chefs in 2004, Scott Conant has opened multiple restaurants, including the sophisticated Scarpetta with locations in Miami Beach, as well as Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
Another James Beard Award-winning chef, Jamie DeRosa opened a restaurant concept in Miami modeled after his childhood summers spent in New England.
With restaurants all over the world, Jean-Georges Vongerichten has taken Miami Beach by storm with his popular restaurant concepts.

Miami-born chef Kevin Cory offers Japanese Cuisine by chef’s choice only and reservations are hard to come by at his eight-seat NAOE on Brickell Key. He also serves Japanese sake from his relative’s 200-year-old brewery in Japan.

Over the last two decades, James Beard Award-winning Chef Daniel Boulud has opened numerous restaurants. His popular db Bistro Moderne restaurant is located in downtown at JW Marriott Marquis Miami.
Andrew Carmellini, a New York based chef and winner of multiple James Beard Awards, opened The Dutch Miami at the W Hotel South Beach. As a child, he spent vacations visiting his grandparents in Miami and his grandfather ran the original Surf Club.
After opening a number of notable restaurants under his Craft Restaurants brand in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York, celebrity chef Tom Colicchio opened his first South Florida restaurant at 1 Hotel & Homes.
With former tenures at The Forge and North 110 under his belt, Dewey LoSasso joined forces with Bill Hansen Luxury Catering and Event Production.

A pioneer of Spanish tapas and an award-winning chef, José Andrés has opened restaurants all over the country, including South Beach.
Former private chef for The Rolling Stones, Sanjay Dwivedi has opened successful restaurants in London and Dubi, with his newest edition in Brickell.
A native of Chicago, Dale Talde competed in both Top Chef: Chicago (2008) and Top Chef All-Stars (2010-2011). He since opened three namesake restaurants, TALDE, which put a modern-American, gastro pub spin on Asian cuisine.
Jeff McInnis & Janine Booth
This couple and chef duo first worked together at Gigi and Yardbird Southern Kitchen & Bar, both here in Miami, and went on to open their first restaurant together, Root & Bone, in Brooklyn. Both are Top Chef alumni, and McInnis was a past James Beard Award finalist.
Coming to the United States from Montreal, Canada, Chef Spike Mendelsohn trained at the Culinary Institute of America. He is most known for competing in the fourth season of Bravo’s Top Chef and the first season of Top Chef All-Stars.
Born in the Philippines and trained in classic French and Japanese cuisine, Paul Qui’s modernist approach towards food has made him a household name. He was named one of Food & Wine magazine's 2014 Best New Chefs and Top 10 Empire Builders of 2012.
