Take a walk with HistoryMiami Museum’s Resident Historian, Dr. Paul George, through one of our city’s most exciting and attractive neighborhoods, South Beach’s Art Deco District. You will hear the stories of how this area, once strictly farmland, was transformed by the land boom of the 1920’s and again by the hurricane of 1926. Learn how the architectural revolution of the 1930’s defined this neighborhood as a lively vacation destination, only to be turned in to a retirement community in the 1950’s and 60’s, and back into the major entertainment destination that we see today.
The Frost Symphony Orchestra performs Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with Asiya Korepanova, soloist. The piece was premiered in Budapest in 1881 with the composer at the piano; Thomas Sleeper conducted its historic premiere in China in 1992. The program concludes with Sleeper's Symphony No. 1.

The Lower Depths is not a traditional, plot driven play rather an examination of the human spirit.

Several years ago NY-based artist Eric Ginsburg, known for his painterly expressionism focused on animals, had an idea to create an art fair during New York's Frieze week that was different from the others. His goal was to create an intimate space for art and art lovers. When asked if he was planning on putting on a Fridge During Art Week in Miami right after the inaugural Fridge Art Fair ended, the answer was 'Why not?'! Hence Fridge Art Fair during Art Basel was born!
This 90-minute walking tour focuses on illegal activities and shady characters in Miami Beach history. Topics include political corruption, illegal gambling, alcohol during prohibition, and organized crime figures. Back by popular demand! Orquesta Brava is a 12-person band, led by Kenny Quintero that performs Salsa, Merengue, Bolero, Cumbia and Latin Jazz. The Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta takes place at Coral Reef Yacht Club in Coconut Grove, FL USA. The Regatta is currently the largest youth sailing regatta in the United States. The regatta includes four days of competition between Christmas and New Years and features dinners, raffles, forums, and gift bags for participants.

The restored Curtiss Mansion in Miami Springs is the former Florida home of famed aviator and inventor, Glenn Hammond Curtiss. The mansion was built in 1925 and the architecture is Pueblo Revival. Known as the “Father of Naval Aviation” and “The Fastest Man on Earth.” Along with his more than 500 inventions/400 patents and contributions to the aviation industry, Curtiss was also instrumental in the 1920s land boom of Miami.
These one-hour tours of the mansion take place every Saturday from 10-11 a.m.
