Would you be surprised if we told you that some of the best restaurants in Miami are housed inside posh urban hotels and luxe beach resorts? Long gone are the days of bland and flavorless hotel dining options.
Miami’s hotels have become hubs for chefs to show off their latest and greatest creations. Some of the biggest names on the international food scene have outposts in Miami and they’ve crafted menus inspired by the beautiful tropical surroundings and rich cultural heritage.
Featuring glamorous hotspots with celebrity chefs at the helm and nearly every type of cuisine you can drool over, here are some of the best hotel restaurants for foodies.
In The City
For a nighttime rooftop experience 15th & Vine Kitchen and Bar at the W Miami offers al fresco seating options and a luxury dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows. The contemporary American menu offers a diverse selection of tapas-style dishes, influenced by Latin, Asian and Italian cuisine.
DB Bistro Moderne at JW Marriott Marquis is the Miami sister restaurant to Chef Daniel Boulud’s New York restaurant by the same name. Boulud is a Michelin star chef with restaurants around the world, and a slew of top culinary honors.
Located at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Miami, La Mar by Gaston Acurio offers authentic Peruvian cuisine with a stunning view of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. Try traditional seafood cebiche (as opposed to ceviche) and sip eclectic handcrafted cocktails.
Chef Aaron Brooks touts a menu of farm-to-table freshness with a Latin flare that’s perfectly Miami at The Four Season’s Edge Steak & Bar.
If it’s done well in London, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Dubai and Bangkok, we can trust that it will be just as delicious in Miami. Zuma at The Epic Hotel brings its internationally renowned cuisine to downtown Miami. Dine in the informal Japanese izakaya style (Japanese tapas or small shared dishes) and get a taste of traditional Japanese flavors, but expect a new and modern spin on classics.
On The Beach
The luxurious SLS South Beach features an impressive selection of dining options, including Katsuya, a sushi restaurant run by Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi and designed by Philippe Starck. There’s also The Bazaar by José Andrés, who reigns in the upper echelon of culinary names worldwide. He’s popularized his particular brand of whimsical, molecular gastronomy and modern Spanish cuisine.
The Ritz-Carlton South Beach is home to the oceanfront Dilido Beach Club, with delicious bites and drop-dead gorgeous beach views.
Say goodbye to your takeout containers and hello to swanky-Cantonese underneath a gold leaf Swarovski chandelier at the W South Beach Hotel. Try an haute take on Chinese food at Mr. Chow Miami or try Chef Andrew Carmellini’s take New American cuisine at The Dutch Miami.
The Restaurant at The Raleigh at The Raleigh Miami Beach serves modern American cuisine created by chef Jose Icardi, with fresh touches inspired by the property's rich history. The menu features shareable plates in addition to traditional starters, entrees, sides and snacks. Chef Icardi adds new dishes to the restaurant's menu daily, showcasing the latest fresh, seasonal ingredients from farmers, ranchers and fishermen near Miami.
Italian fare has been elevated at restaurants like Bianca at the Delano and Cecconi’s at the Soho Beach House. And these trendy restaurants don’t lack in substance. Try either spot for a plate of heaping handmade pasta or fresh seafood in an expertly designed setting.
At BLT Steak at The Betsy Hotel, the menu includes American steakhouse favorites with a modern twist, a signature brunch, and a savvy wine and cocktail list.
Some of Miami’s great poolside restaurants include La Cote at the fabulous and historic Fontainebleau, the Lido Restaurant and Bayside Grill at The Standard Resort & Spa, and Hibiscus Court at Miami Beach Resort & Spa.
A Bit Farther Out
If a big juicy steak is what you’re after, head to Chef Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak. Located in Aventura at the Turnberry Isle Miami, this outpost is a celebrity chef’s glamorous and contemporary take on the American steakhouse.
Jaunt out to The Ritz-Carlton on Key Biscayne and pick from a wealth of excellent dining options: Cioppino for mouthwatering Italian fare, Cantina Beach for eclectic Mexican dishes or the hip and trendy Dune Oceanfront Burger Lounge for champagne and, you guessed it…burgers.
Stop by The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove and dine at Bizcaya for a fine selection of international fare and freshly caught seafood.
Head south to try Palme D’Or at the The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables for a true fine-dining experience.
