Miami single scene

How to navigate Miami’s singles scene.
Miami has a bustling social scene that for local singles can be at once exciting and intimidating. But in between the tourists, bachelor parties, on-the-go celebrities and people only here to have a good time, there are plenty of ways new and longstanding locals can mingle with the Magic City’s best bachelors and bachelorettes.
Depending what you’re into, here’s where you can go to meet Miami’s hottest singles:
If you like to dance.
Want to dance? Miami’s got you covered. While the city’s megaclubs definitely attract tourists, plenty of Miami’s finest still go there to make a VIP appearance. Spots like LIV, Bâoli and Nikki Beach promise beautiful people watching, strong drinks, hot DJs and guys and girls who are dressed-to-impress. Other clubs – like STORY, Wall and Fifty Ultra Lounge – promise a night that’s just as posh, but with a wider variety of music and more locals.
If you like cocktails.
If a quiet beer or cocktail is more your scene, Miami has plenty of bars and lounges where you can chat up a cute guy or girl. Tucked in Coral Gables, Tarpon Bend and The Bar are packed with laid-back, trendy locals on the weekends, while Brickell’s Blackbird Ordinary, Brother Jimmy’s and Fado are teeming with happy-go-lucky groups playing life-sized Jenga and listening to live music. For a more posh lounge, head to Living Room at the W South Beach on a Friday or Saturday, or head to the Basement at The Miami Beach EDITION. The latter of the two has a haute bar, late-night bowling and the sexiest singles you’ve ever seen, making their way around the – wait for it – indoor ice skating rink.
If you’re not into the bar scene at all.
If meeting someone over alcohol isn’t your style, there are plenty of other places in Miami where you can spot a single catch. Grab a book or some extra work and head to a coffee shop, like Books & Books or Panther Coffee. If you like art, go to a screening at the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), or checkout the Wynwood Art Walk during its “Second Saturdays.” If philanthropy is more your scene, join a charity you’re passionate about. Miami has lots to choose from – like Miami Dade Coastal Cleanup, Deering Estate Foundation, Chapman Partnership and more.
If you’re active.
Hoping to meet someone while breaking a sweat? Join Miami Critical Mass, and you’ll meet hundreds of biking enthusiasts on the last Friday of every month for a group ride through Downtown Miami. The Brickell Run Club meets every Tuesday at 1300 Brickell Avenue for a free mass run, while the Miami Rowing Club or Miami Dragon Boat Club keeps being active beautiful by mixing exercise with Miami’s breathtaking water views.
