For the first time in its 25-year history, the Miami Marlins will host the Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
The 88th MLB All-Star Game, presented by MasterCard, will be played on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Marlins Park. The mid-summer classic is more than just a game and will feature numerous special events to be held throughout Miami leading up to the game. Below is a comprehensive list of what you can expect during the MLB All-Star Week in Miami!
MLB Play Ball Park – Bayfront Park – July 6-11 – All Day
‘PLAY BALL Park,’ a free All-Star Week attraction located at Bayfront Park in Miami will be accessible to children and parents from Thursday, July 6th through Tuesday, July 11th. Measuring about one acre in size, PLAY BALL Park will include a youth-sized, turf diamond featuring daily scheduled programming and open-play as well as batting tunnels, pitching inflatables, MLB Sponsor activation zones, and a new ‘Stickball Alley.’ Each young person who participates in PLAY BALL Park activities will receive a plastic or foam bat & ball set made by Franklin and a PLAY BALL-branded t-shirt. This year’s version of PLAY BALL Park will feature a new element called “Stickball Alley” where participants will enjoy the informal version of baseball that is usually played with a stick and rubber ball. PLAY BALL Park will host a Stickball Alley Tournament on Monday, July 10th. Stickball is mostly associated with northeastern U.S. cities, but it has developed and strong and growing presence in Miami. Additionally, Monday, July 10th will be “Hispanic Heritage Day” at PLAY BALL Park, featuring bilingual messaging and Latin-influenced music throughout the day.
Special scheduled appearances at PLAY BALL Park include Two-Time Olympic Gold Medalist and MLB Youth Programs Ambassador Jennie Finch, Players in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, Participants in the High School Home Run Derby, Members of USA Baseball & USA Softball National Teams, MLB Mascots and more. Participants attending scheduled programming at PLAY BALL Park will include kids from the All-Star Youth Classic, National Finalists in the Scotts MLB Pitch, Hit & Run competition, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Miami Marlins RBI program, Chevy Youth Baseball as well as local Little Leagues, PONY Baseball and Babe Ruth Baseball leagues.
MLB All-Star Fan Fest – Miami Beach Convention Center – July 7-11 – All Day
Major League Baseball All-Star Fan Fest will take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Fan Fest is the world’s largest interactive baseball theme park with more than 40 attractions, including artifacts from the Baseball Hall of Fame and autograph sessions with current and former MLB players. Test your baseball skills in the batting cages, pitching and base running simulators and go toe-to-toe with the legends of the game. Electric Run MLB All-Star 5K, Presented by Nike – Bayfront Park – July 8 – 8:00 PM
When the sun drops, so does the beat! Runners will hit the course starting at 8:00 PM under the Miami stars, partying their way through five mind-bending “worlds” that will create an electrifying experience. Participants will dance, walk or run their way through worlds inspired by sweets, rainbows, a rainforest and under the sea themes! There will also be a dance zone with a DJ to let runners’ senses go wild in Miami’s beautiful Bayfront Park as they smell, hear, touch and feel the electricity of the different worlds. After crossing the finish line, runners will take part in an epic after-party featuring a dance floor and show with a big-name performer.
“We’re bringing the party to Miami for MLB All-Star Week,” said Nick Pearson, the event director. “It’ll be an electric experience you won’t want to miss!”

MLB All-Star Zumba® - Bayfront Park – July 9 – 9:30 AM
The first ever MLB All-Star Zumba® event is a fun, calorie-burning dance fitness party for all ages. Participants can dance with Zumba® creator himself, Beto Perez, who will be leading the party. A limited number of dancers will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with Beto Perez by selecting the VIP experience ticket option.
“MLB All-Star Zumba® is really for everyone,” said Sophie Weichers, MLB All-Star Zumba® event director. “Celebrate MLB All-Star Fitness Weekend with your friends and family at the dance party of the year.”

MLB All-Star Sunday – Marlins Park – July 9 – 2:00 PM
Major League Baseball All-Star Sunday at Marlins Park features the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Games and the All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game. The All-Star Futures Game is an annual baseball exhibition game hosted by Major League Baseball. Started in 1999, a team of minor league baseball prospects from the United States and a team of prospects from other countries compete against each other. The All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game is an annual game that brings former Major League Baseball All-Stars and celebrities together in a friendly exhibition following the Futures Game. MLB Legends and Celebrities scheduled to participate include Hall of Famers Ricky Henderson, Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez, Andre Dawson, Tim “Rock” Raines, Olympic Gold Medalists Jennie Finch and Jessica Mendoza and actors Dascha Polanco, Jencarlos Canela, William Levy, Miles Teller with more to be announced!
Superstar rapper and Miami native Flo Rida will perform between the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game and Legends and Celebrity Softball Game.
The All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game is the second game of a doubleheader at Marlins Park on All-Star Sunday. The SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, featuring the top Minor League prospects competing in a nine-inning contest, will precede the softball game and air live on MLB Network, MLB.com and SiriusXM at 4:00 p.m. ET/1:00 p.m. PT.
Tickets for All-Star Sunday are available now for purchase at the official All-Star Game website of Major League Baseball. The purchase of an All-Star Sunday ticket includes a ticket to FanFest good for admission to the Miami Beach Convention Center Monday or Tuesday and the first 10,000 fans will receive an Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez bobblehead.
Gatorade All-Star Workout Day, featuring T-Mobile Home Run Derby – Marlins Park – July 10 – 8:00 PM
Come out to the ballpark and see today’s biggest stars of the game of baseball as they gather on the same field for one final tune-up for the 88th mid-summer classic. Both the American League and National League Teams will participate in a final workout before the big game before the sluggers of the game take part in the T-Mobile Home Run Derby.
Catch Miami Marlins slugger, Giancarlo Stanton, defend his title against nine of the best home-run hitters in baseball at the T-Mobile Home Run Derby. The Home Run Derby takes place after the Gatorade All-Star Workout Day at Marlins Park.

Major League Baseball All-Star Red Carpet Parade – Downtown Miami – July 11 – 12:30 PM
The 2017 MLB All-Star teams will make their way through the streets of Miami in red, white, and blue Chevrolet Silverado and Colorado pickups on Tuesday, July 11th as part of the 13th annual MLB All-Star Red Carpet Show presented by Chevrolet.
The event, which is free for fans to attend, will begin at 12:30 p.m. ET. The parade starts on Biscayne Boulevard just north of Chopin Plaza and travels north along Biscayne Boulevard ending near NE 8th Street. The event will air later in the day on MLB Network and MLB.com at 3pm ET.
Serving as Grand Marshals, Marlins legends Jeff Conine and Tony Pérez, will lead the parade in a Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. The NL and AL All-Star Team Managers, Joe Maddon and Terry Francona, will lead their teams through the streets in Chevrolet Camaro SS Redline Convertibles. The players will be traveling on a 100% polypropylene carpet that will be recycled after its use.
As part of the parade celebration, spectators can catch a glimpse of the Commissioner’s Trophy, which is presented to the World Series Champion each year. Merchandise giveaways will take place while MLB mascots join the parade route interacting with fans along the way. More than 70 players, boys and girls ages 6-14, from seven Miami area Chevy Youth Baseball supported teams will also take part in the parade.
88th MLB All-Star Game, presented by MasterCard – Marlins Park – July 11 – 8:00 PM
For the first time since their inception in 1993 the Miami Marlins will host the “Midsummer Classic” at Marlins Park. The MLB All-Star game is an exhibition game contested between players from the National and American Leagues. Position players are voted in by the fans while the coaches of each team choose the pitching staffs. Marlins legend Jeff Conine and Hall of Famer Tony Perez were named MLB All-Star Ambassadors for the 2017 All-Star Week, culminating with the All-Star game on July 11 at Marlins Park.
