Here’s a roundup of the best hostels in Miami Beach that won't break the bank.
If an upscale, hipster-style hostel is what you're after, then Freehand Miami (2727 Indian Creek Drive) should be at the top of your list. Not only is it home to the Broken Shaker, one of the most popular handcrafted cocktail outposts in Miami, its pool party scene offers a more laid-back and friendly vibe, compared to other South Beach hotels. Situated inside what was once the historic Indian Creek Hotel, rooms have a classic art deco feel and both private and shared accommodations are available, as well as free Wi-Fi, towels, sheets and an amenity-stocked bathroom. Rates for shared rooms start at around $33 per person and private rooms start at $159.
Clay Hostel & Hotel
The Clay Hostel (1438 Washington Avenue) is associated with the a budget-friendly hotel of the same name on historic, picturesque Espanola Way in the heart of South Beach. The pedestrian street is lined with charming cafes like the French creperie A La Folie. Featuring private single and double rooms, as well as dorms accommodating four to six people, this is an ideal spot to drop off your backpack and set out to explore. Rates start around $60.

Deco Walk Hostel South Beach
This oceanfront hostel is perfect for backpackers, students and tourists who are looking for that South Beach experience for a lower price. The hostel is located right in the heart of all the action on Ocean Drive where restaurants, bars and hotspots will keep you entertained. Accommodations at this hostel include private dorms, mixed dorms, female dorms and male dorms. Private dorms feature an en-suite shared bathroom. Located in South Beach’s chic South of Fifth neighborhood, it’s situated on a quiet street only a few blocks from the beach.
