Miami’s longest running contemporary art fair, Art Miami, returns to the City of Miami with a compelling array of modern and contemporary artwork from more than 100 international galleries and prominent art institutions. This “can’t miss” event for serious collectors, museum professionals, curators and art enthusiasts is now in its 21st year. Exhibitions include paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography and prints from Europe, Asia, Latin America, India, the Middle East and the United States. Art Miami kicks off Art Week with a benefit for Lotus House Women’s Shelter on Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m., followed by a VIP preview from 7 to 10:30 p.m. open to Art Miami VIP cardholders. The Base Paint Tents

The Base Paint Tents is a project of 10 tents being transformed into works of art by artists from around the world. The tents will ultimately function as multi-purpose classrooms in earthquake-ravaged Haiti. Almost a year after the devastating earthquake, this exhibition is a call for attention to the reality of a country that tries to carry on with life as usual, still amid ruins and tent towns. 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

The eighth annual Breakfast in the Park will feature an informal lecture by Enrique Martínez Celaya, whose works consists of paintings, sculpture, photography, poetry, and prose. Martínez Celaya's work directly reflects his personal experience with a diversity of fields. His work is often characterized by solitary and autobiographical figures seemingly displaced in surreal and symbolic landscapes. Extraordinary Journey Into 3D

Les Lalanne at Fairchild

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden presents the largest outdoor exhibition of works by French sculptors Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne in the U.S. as part of its renowned annual visual art program. The exhibition will feature more than 20 sculptures, including works never before publicly exhibited in the U.S., and one multi-piece work comprised of more than a dozen individual sculptures, to be installed throughout the Garden’s 83 acres of lush, tropical landscape designed by Central Park’s Frederick Law Olmsted group. The show's opening will coincide with Art Basel Miami Beach.

The List Art Collection in Miami

Miami Sculpture Biennale

The first edition of the Miami Sculpture Biennale will display approximately 50 monumental and indoor works along Bayfront Park, on the site of the future sculpture garden of the Miami Art Museum’s projected new home, as well as Bayside Marketplace. Indoor works will be displayed in the lobby the InterContinental Miami hotel. The Biennale is produced by Gary Nader and curated by Ricardo Pau-Llosa. Aside from reveling in masterworks by some of the biggest names in modern and contemporary sculpture; the Biennale will call attention to the importance of art in our everyday lives.

Michael McKeever's South Beach Babylon

Zoetic Stage will kick off its inaugural season with the World Premiere of Michael McKeever’s wickedly funny and sexy new play, South Beach Babylon. McKeever is one of South Florida’s most successful playwrights and his plays have been produced throughout the United States and Europe. The Small World of Willard Wigan

The enchanting world of Willard Wigan makes its debut in Miami for Art Basel with 58 pieces - most formed in the eye of a needle, visible only by high-powered microscopes in custom cases. Highly anticipated pieces include Little Miss Muffet, Cameron Diaz, Mega Yacht "Hope" and the first showing of Cupid - arguably the smallest piece of art ever created, measuring 385.77 micron (equal to one millionth of a meter). Also on display will be his homage to the Miami Heat and "The Three Kings." LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh will be playing in the smallest arena yet - the eye of a needle.
