Director, Regional Sales-Washington, DC

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is seeking a motivated, goal-oriented Director, Regional Sales to join our sales team. (Washington, DC).

This significant role will be based in the Washington DC area. The Regional Director, Convention Sales – DC position is responsible for generating, following up and closing meeting opportunities for all markets in the Mid-Atlantic area. Success in this demanding and competitive marketplace will require someone who is focused on growing market share for Miami by securing meetings and conventions from 500+ peak night rooms with specific focus on multi-hotel and Miami Beach Convention Center business.

Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to:

  • Effectively operate an independent home-based office in the DC area.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ sales experience, with a proven track record in lead generation and booking, selling and telemarketing to associations, corporations and meeting planners.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills, ability to make presentations, office management and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 365.
  • Simpleview Customer Resource Management software experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
