Bordered by Biscayne Bay on the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the City of Miami Beach encompasses 7.1 square miles that include pristine sandy beaches, 3 golf courses and 20 parks. Incorporated on March 26, 1915, the City of Miami Beach operates on a commission/city manager form of government. The mayor and six commissioners govern the city with the city manager handling the implementation of the commissions directives as well as the city’s daily operations.
