Our travel and tourism industry often deals with crises, from natural and environmental disasters to terrorism and endemic health hazards. Each time, our community and our industry pull together in ways both large and small to face these challenges and address our neighbors’ – both locally and globally – most pressing needs.

Your Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau is a proud leader in these efforts, garnering aid from individuals and organizations across the travel industry to contribute in times of need, supporting both immediate aid and long-term recovery efforts.

Recent examples include support for Haiti following its devastating earthquake, and for the victims and families of the tragic Surfside building collapse, where the GMCVB quickly stepped in to support City and County efforts, including:

  • Marshalling support from hospitality partners for Red Cross and Miami-Dade OEM/EOC relief efforts, including complimentary hotel rooms, rental vehicles, childcare services and donations.
  • Donating $10,420 proceeds from Miami Spice OpenTable reservations to Surfside relief efforts.
  • Providing digital resources and platforms to further support fundraising initiatives and emergency relief efforts including food, supplies and donations.

Together, we build a more resilient community and travel industry.
