Chamber Music: Haydn + Borodin
Oct 13, 2024
Starting: 2:00 PM PM
Join the New World Symphony on Sunday, October 13, for an engaging afternoon of chamber music featuring a diverse program spanning nearly 250 years. Principal Oboe of the Nashville Symphony, Titus Underwood, makes his NWS debut alongside the talented musicians of the New World Symphony.
The program includes Boccherini’s Oboe Quintet No. 6 and Haydn’s St. Anthony Chorale, a lighthearted example of the composer's works for winds. The concert will also explore contemporary compositions, including Lee Hyla’s Dream of Innocent III, inspired by art from the Late Middle Ages, and Viet Cuong’s playful Extra Fancy, showcasing the creativity of NWS alumni. The performance concludes with Borodin’s rich and melodic String Sextet.
