IlluminArts presents Benjamin Britten’s gothic masterpiece, The Turn of the Screw at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. A chamber opera that delivers genuine chills, The Turn of the Screw tells the ghostly story of an old mansion with expansive gardens and the secrets behind the lives lived there.

Designed and directed by Laine Rettmer, this multimedia, site specific production weaves together live video, projections and historical photographs that intertwine the opera’s plot with the intrigue of the lives lived at Vizcaya. Jacomo Bairos will conduct the musicians of Nu Deco Ensemble, and a stellar cast led by 2019 GRAMMY award winner, Karim Sulayman as Peter Quint and luminous soprano, Susan Hellman Spatafora as the Governess, with former National YoungArts finalist, Jaylyn Simmons in the role of Flora. Don’t miss this riveting night of drama surrounded by the stunning setting that is Vizcaya.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the performance starts at 7:00 p.m. sharp!
