International Coastal Cleanup at Lummus Park

Join the U.S. Coast Guard and fellow volunteers for the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) on Saturday, September 21 at Lummus Park (11th Street & Ocean Drive). Help protect our precious marine environment by removing trash from Miami's iconic South Beach.
What to Expect:
- Participate in a large-scale beach cleanup.
- Receive essential supplies like garbage bags, gloves, data collection cards and a commemorative tote bag.
- Earn community service hours for your participation (certificates provided).
What to Bring:
- Dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather (closed-toe shoes, hat, sunscreen, etc.).
- Bring a reusable water bottle to minimize waste.
- Download the Ocean Conservancy's CleanSwell app to participate in citizen science data collection (optional).
Important Information:
- Pre-registration is recommended, but not required. Sign the online waiver beforehand for a smoother check-in process. Minors without a guardian must have a signed waiver in hand.
- Arrive by 8:45 a.m. to meet the Site Captain and receive cleanup supplies. A safety briefing will be held at 8:55 a.m., followed by the cleanup starting promptly at 9:00 am. Cleanup concludes by noon.
