Yiddish Tangos

Yiddish Tangos brings a unique multicultural blend of music and dance to the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Saturday, October 19. Presented in partnership with YI Love Jewish as part of the YIDFEST 2024 series, this performance blends traditional Yiddish melodies with the passionate rhythms of tango, a genre that gained popularity during World War II on both sides of the Atlantic. Led by Aaron Kula and his Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra, the evening showcases Kula’s original arrangements of Yiddish and Klezmer tunes, set to tango beats along with live dancers. Actor Avi Hoffman will share stories of Jewish culture, enhancing the experience with historical context.
