From pop-up nightclubs to music festivals and celebrity DJs, here’s your guide to the best parties during Art Basel Miami Beach 2018

When Art Basel Miami Beach arrives in early December, it brings with it a slew of highly sought after parties. Miami Art Week is as much about art fairs as it is about nightlife. From pop-up clubs to music festivals and celebrity DJs, these are the parties you’ll want to hit during Miami Art Week 2018.

1OAK Pop-up at Rockwell

From December 6-9, 1OAK throws a slew of ragers with their pop-up at Miami Beach nightclub Rockwell for the fourth year in a row. Drawing A-list celebrities in years past like Lenny Kravitz, Kendall Jenner, Lebron James and Diddy, this year’s lineup includes Rich the Kid on December 6, Rick Ross on December 7 and Gucci Mane headlining December 8.

Rakastella at Virginia Key

Come out to Virginia Key on December 8 for Rakastella, an immersive art and music production promising a solid 12-hours of music and dancing on the sand to top house and techno DJs. The lineup includes Virgil Abloh, Seth Troxler, RY X, Dixon, Tennis, DJ Harvey, Apparat, Red Axes and Job Jobse performing on three different stages amidst art installations and the natural beauty of Virginia Key.

Emily Estefan at Design District

The Design District is ground zero for public art and site specific installations. On December 7, the neighborhood unveils a holiday commission by contemporary artist Dozie Kanu. Celebrate with a concert by Emily Estefan, daughter of Miami showbiz legends Gloria and Emilio Estefan. The young singer, songwriter, guitarist and drummer is known for her smooth vocals and jazzy arrangements, promising a pleasant evening filled with art. Her acclaimed debut album is entitled, Take Whatever You Want.

Boom Basel at Mana Wynwood

On December 6 the old RC Cola Factory at Mana Wynwood hosts Boom Basel presented by Fader featuring Flying Lotus & Virgil Abloh for a late night warehouse party. On December 8, they’ll present Zhu with Channel Tres and on December 9, come out for Ninja Tune Basel with Bonobo, Yves Tumor and Octo Octa. The music series is presented by homegrown Miami concert production group, iii points.

InList & Moishe Mana’s Birthday at Mana Wynwood

InList presents the fourth edition of their Art Basel Opening Party with developer Moishe Mana’s birthday on December 4th at the old RC Cola Factory at Mana Wynwood. The Royal Racer-themed fete is headlined by DJ Cedric Gervais with special MC Lance Bass, performances by Sonic Butterfly and art by Miguel Paredes. The party promises to be a high-energy, late night spectacle. Table reservations are highly recommended.

Raw Pop Up

From December 5-9, Raw Pop Up will transform an abandoned department store in Downtown Miami into a two-story, 43,000 square-foot immersive, multidisciplinary art installation featuring visual art, performance art, music and technology. More than 80 local and international artists will collaborate to bring Raw Pop Up to life. To cap off your experience, wind your way to Alt_Future, a secret “dystopian nightclub” within the department store where you can dance the night away to the beats of DJs with live performances.

Baby Jane x Suzy Kellems Dominik

Artist and “emotional autobiographer” Suzy Kellems Dominik is throwing a Miami Art Week kickoff party at Baby Jane in Brickell on December 4. During the party, she will unveil a monumental site specific sculpture as an extension of her installation at the Nautilus hotel called Invisible. The evening promises light bites, cocktails and music by DJ Melladrama.

More Parties at Miami Hot Spots

You’ll also find a slew of parties with special DJ sets at Miami hotspots all week long. Highlights include parties at Wynwood’s 1-800-LUCKY and Coyo Taco from December 4-9 with special guests A-Trak, Boys Noise, Yes Julz, Dubfire and Justin Martin.

Also from December 4-9, Wall presents a stellar lineup including Guy Gerber on December 5 and Paris Hilton for her fifth annual DJ residency during Miami Art Week on December 7. The Anderson will host The Roots drummer and frontman, Questlove, on December 8.

Basement at The Miami Beach EDITION will celebrate its fourth anniversary with Danny Krivit and Richard Vasquez on December 4 along with a stellar party lineup through December 8.

Fans of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air can check out DJ Jazzy Jeff during Miami Art Week at Foxhole on Miami Beach, December 7, and at Racket in Wynwood on December 8.

The Fontainebleau’s LIV is always a hotspot for nightlife during Miami Art Week. Come out for Chief Keef on December 5, Zedd on December 6, Calvin Harris December 8 and DJ Khaled December 9.
