Here’s your guide to the best parties during Art Basel Miami Beach 2019

When Art Basel Miami Beach arrives in early December, it brings with it a slew of highly sought after parties. Miami Art Week is as much about art fairs as it is about nightlife. From pop-up clubs to music festivals and celebrity DJs, these are the parties you’ll want to hit during Art Basel & Miami Art Week 2019.

Miami Beach Parties

Faena Festival – Dec. 2-8

Spanning Mid-beach’s Faena District, this year’s Faena Festival theme is The Last Supper. Accordingly, the festival will explore spirituality and food in contemporary art through seminal works, new commissions, installations, videos, and performances by artists including Sophia Al-Maria, Camille Henrot, Zhang Huan and many more. The festival will also encapsulate a Cinema Series, Talk Series and Supper Series with dinners hosted by Faena hotel’s own award-winning chefs Francis Mallmann and Paul Qui.

Kehinde Wiley & Swizz Beatz VIP Benefit at New World Center – Dec. 2

Join Kehinde Wiley, the famed artist behind President Obama’s National Gallery portrait, in discussion with acclaimed music producer and art collector Swizz Beatz, inside architect Frank Gehry’s stunning New World Center on South Beach. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a Champagne reception followed by their conversation at 7 p.m. For a cool $1,250 you can purchase VIP tickets granting you access to a rooftop after party with DJ Gardy Girauld benefiting Creative Minds Talks. You’ll enjoy delicious food and Champagne at this party that promises to be celebrity-splashed. Tickets for the opening reception and talk start at $125.

Arlo Beach Club at Nautilus by Arlo – Dec. 3-7

Take to the sands of South Beach during Miami Art Week at the Arlo Beach Club at Nautilus by Arlo where their late-night party will include performances, art installations and pop-up experiences. You can expect a killer lineup of DJs and celebrity hosts curated by the Up&Down, performances by New York City’s infamous The Box nightclub and programming from the hotel’s onsite nightlife destination Blind Barber.

1OAK Pop-up at Rockwell – Dec. 5-7

From December 5-7, 1OAK will throw a slew of ragers with their South Beach pop-up at Rockwell nightclub for the fifth year in a row. Drawing A-list celebrities in years past like Lenny Kravitz, Kendall Jenner, Lebron James and Diddy with performances by the likes of 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, Nas, Meek Mill and Rick Ross, this year’s lineup is still in the works, and it promises big surprises and lots of excitement.


Luminosa Chinese Lantern Art Basel Party at Jungle Island – through Jan. 8

During Art Basel weekend, Jungle Island’s Luminosa Chinese Lantern Festival is kicking into high gear with roving entertainment and live music for an epic outdoor party with 13 acres of giant, hand-crafted silk lanterns by the world’s top creators. You’ll also enjoy Chinese acrobat shows, a Moët Champagne lounge, bars and food trucks at a party that goes from 5 p.m. -10 p.m. nightly.

Wynwood & Little Haiti Parties

Beats, Bass & Art Basel 2019 at Gramps – Dec. 5

Head to Gramps in Wynwood for their Beats, Bass & Art Basel 2019 party featuring Goldie, Yheti and Otto Von Schirach on the decks along with many other DJs and musicians. The evening will also feature an art exhibit and other live performances.

Rakastella at Virginia Key – Dec. 7

Come out to Virginia Key on December 7 for Rakastella, the second annual immersive art and music festival promising a solid 12-hours of music and dancing on the sand to top house and techno DJs. The lineup includes Soul Clap, KiNK Live, Ben UFO, DJ Tennis and Dixon, plus many more, performing on multiple stages amidst art installations and the natural beauty of Virginia Key.


More Parties at Miami Hot Spots

The Fontainebleau’s LIV is always a hot spot for nightlife during Miami Art Week with Swedish DJ superstar Alesso headlining Saturday, December 7.

Basement at The Miami Beach EDITION will celebrate its fifth anniversary during Miami Art Week with a stellar lineup starting Tuesday, December 3 and culminating with Diplo and Idris Elba on the decks Saturday, December 7.

The Miami Art Week lineup at legendary South Beach nightclub Story includes Black Coffee Basel Edition with Guy Laliberté and Salomé on Thursday, December 5 and DeadMau5 on Friday, December 6 with more fun surprises in the works.

The W South Beach and its nightclub Wall always promises high energy, celebrity splashed parties during Miami Art Week. The party kicks off Tuesday, December 3 with their weekly Favela Beach party hosted by Mr. Brainwash featuring Damian Lazarus, Art Department and Salome Le Chat. Highlights of the week include Paris Hilton on the decks Friday, December 6.
