Miami Funkshion Swim Week showcases the latest in swim and resort fashions with a series of runway shows

With three different fashion show events held in Miami Beach annually, Funkshion is Miami’s homegrown, high profile fashion production company. From July 11-14, 2019, they will present Funkshion Swim, a series of runway shows held at Collins Park and the surrounding area. Every year editors, bloggers, influencers and industry pros flock to the tents to see the latest in swim fashion strut down the runways on South Beach.

“This season is especially important as we evolve Swim Fashion Week to showcase the brightest talent in the industry today,” said Sale Stojanovic, partner and co-founder of Funkshion Productions. “Designers from all over the globe are choosing to showcase their brands in Miami Beach because of the growth of the trade shows and media focus. That has inspired us to innovate and offer the most creative options for the brands to tell their stories. This is the future of the industry and we are thrilled to be able to continue to bring the energy and excitement back another year.”

The Designers

Whether you’re on the list or you’re heading to a show that’s open to the public, expect the latest fashions from the hottest swim and resort designers today. From modern classics like Vix Paula Hermany, Tori Praver, Luli Fama, Sinesia Karol, Maaji and Aquaclara to sizzling up-and-comers like Kyboe!, Anna Kostuova, Kai Lani, Beach Riot, Blue Life, For Love and Lemons, Lee and Lani, the designer showcases are a dream for any beach bunny.

The Shows

With sizzling runway shows and presentations spread across three venues, Funkshion Swim is a splashy, action-packed weekend. The Funkshion Tent will be at Collins Park in front of the Bass Museum and is divided into two venues, Sunset with an 80-foot runway and a capacity for 320 seats and Sunrise with a U-shaped runway and 240 seats.

The Setai, one of South Beach’s most luxurious hotels, offers an incredible venue in its interior courtyard where a tranquil water feature in an Asian motif runs up against low-slung banquettes. A 72-foot runway will be installed and the space has capacity for 350 people. The Nautilus is one of South Beach’s newest hot spots with a poolscape featuring a series of infinity pools. Here a 70-foot catwalk will be built over the pool for a perfect backdrop to showcase swimwear.

Attendees can expect a slew of after parties and industry events to go along with the Funkshion Swim runway shows and the entire weekend is a fun-filled and sexy romp through the latest fashions in swim and resort wear.
