Celebrate America’s Birthday in Miami Beach

There are plenty of places to celebrate the Fourth of July in Miami, but when it comes to this classic summer holiday, there’s nowhere more fitting to cheer on America’s birthday than at the beach.

And here in sunny South Florida, Independence Day weekend in Miami Beach has become a tradition; one packed with toes-in-the-sand activities, outdoor concerts, food, drinks and fireworks over the Atlantic Ocean. Head to Collins Avenue and choose one of the multiple July 4th celebrations happening on Miami Beach. Between the sun, sand and surf, trust us, it’ll be a party in paradise!

The largest celebration is definitely the annual Fire on the Fourth Festival in North Miami Beach. This event happens every year at the North Beach Bandshell, which is located at the intersection of Collins Avenue and 73rd Street. Marked by a huge amphitheater stage, a grassy landscaped park with palm trees and a family-friendly beach with a lifeguard stand, this oceanfront hangout is perfect for friends, families and couples alike.

The fun will start at 11 a.m. with live music, outdoor yoga classes and a kid zone with arts and crafts, games, a rock climbing wall, bungee jumps, an inflatable slide, a face painting station, and kid-friendly contests and activities. There will also be plenty of food trucks on hand with classic summer treats like hot dogs, hamburgers, tacos, grilled cheese and ice cream.

To make sure no one has to miss out on the fun, free shuttles and trolleys will take guests to and from North Beach Bandshell all day long.

Get ready for a spectacular fireworks show over the Atlantic Ocean at 9 p.m. If you only want to go for the fireworks, grab your beach chair or some blankets and plan to get there early. This is the best fireworks show on Miami Beach, and everyone will be clamoring for their spot on the sand.

Looking to celebrate farther south on Collins Avenue? Check out the annual Fourth of July fireworks show on Ocean Drive. To get the best view, grab a street-side table at one of the Art Deco-inspired sidewalk cafes — like News Cafe or A Fish Called Avalon — or claim your spot around the rooftop pool of The Betsy Hotel. The fireworks will begin promptly at 9 p.m., over Lummus Park, between 5th and 15th Streets.

Finally, if you can’t decide which fireworks show you want to see, rent a boat and see them all. Boat rentals are available at the Miami Beach Marina. Sail along the intracoastal to catch the 9 p.m. firework shows in Miami Beach, Key Biscayne, Downtown Miami and Coconut Grove. Once the fireworks are over, soak up the magical Miami skyline and toast to another great birthday in America.

Happy Fourth of July!
