Don’t miss these events in Miami during the month of May.

From concerts to an orchid show and a variety of family-friendly festivals, May is brimming with an impressive line-up of events. It’s also your opportunity to celebrate Miami’s rich cultural history all month long. Participate in Miami Museum Month and experience your own “museum hop.” Museums like HistoryMiami, Miami Children’s Museum, Pérez Art Museum Miami and many more are offering special deals throughout the month.

Cinco de Mayo: May 5

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo and Mexico’s independence at places all around Miami. In Mary Brickell Village you’ll find a block party with two stages for music, mariachi bands, an eight-foot-tall piñata, and of course lots of tequila and Mexican food. General admission tickets are $10 if you buy them in advance.

All Kids Included Family Arts Festival: May 5

Get ready for artistic fun for the whole family. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center is hosting the 12th edition of the All Kids Included Family Arts Festival, which will include art programming and activities for children with and without disabilities. Admission is free.

Rolling Loud Festival: May 11 – 13

Featuring an incredible lineup of the biggest stars in hip-hop, the three-day Rolling Loud Festival returns to Miami. This year it will be at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens and headliners include J. Cole, Travis Scott and Future, as well as a long list of impressive acts set to take the stage. Tickets start at $299 for admission to all three days of the festival.

H.O.T. Challenge Golf Tournament: May 11

Join the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau for the H.O.T. Challenge Golf Tournament at the Miami Beach Golf Club. The event helps to fund scholarships for men and women of African heritage committed to working in the local visitor industry upon their graduation, as well as the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Multicultural & Tourism programs. Registration fees vary.

New Times Brew at the Zoo: May 12

Throw a few cold ones back and enjoy live music at the Miami New Times’ and Zoo Miami’s annual Brew at the Zoo. From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., sample more than 100 kinds of beer from all around the world. General admission tickets start at $25 in advance and $40 at the door. VIP tickets start at $50.

Justin Timberlake Concert: May 18

Haitian Compas Festival: May 19

Celebrate the sounds of Haiti at the annual Haitian Compas Festival in Downtown’s Bayfront Park. Tickets start at $20.

Redland International Orchid Show: May 18 - 20

Head to the lushly landscaped Fruit and Spice Park in Homestead for one of the largest annual orchid shows in the country. The Redland International Orchid Show is a three-day event open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and featuring more than 50 booths of orchid vendors. Tickets are $10 per person or purchase a three-day pass for $25.

Out in the Tropics: May 24 – June 24

Enjoy a month of presentations by artists addressing issues ranging from politics to sexuality. The ninth season of Out in the Tropics presented by FUNDarte will feature a variety of performances at venues such as Centro Cultural Español, The Gleason Room at The Fillmore, The Miami Beach Botanical Garden and more. Tickets start at $25.

Sizzle Miami: May 24 – 28

One of the hottest events on the LGBT+ party circuit, Sizzle Miami features five days of day and night events. Whether in a dance club, on the beach or aboard a yacht, there are a variety of venues to party with a cause. Ticket prices vary.

Air & Sea Show and The Musical Explosion: May 26 – 27

The Air & Sea Show is a two-day event presented by Hyundai on Miami Beach that will showcase and salute all five branches of the United States military with jet flyovers and stunts, extreme water sports and more. Dubbed “The Musical Explosion,” there will also be a concert as well-known artists perform on stage while jets fly overhead. The event is free and open to the public.

Best of the Best Concert: May 27

Enjoy an impressive musical line-up featuring bands performing hip-hop, reggae, pop and more at the annual Best of the Best concert at Miami’s Bayfront Park during Memorial Day Weekend. General admission tickets are available for $38 and VIP tickets start at $130.

Memorial Day: May 28

Not only is Memorial Day a federal holiday dedicated to remembering those who gave their life while serving in the armed forces, it’s also the unofficial kick-off for summer vacation season.
