Host Your Meeting Safely at the MBCC

The Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) was recently awarded the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ Facility Accreditation, the gold standard for facilities and venues worldwide who demonstrate they have the best practices in place to prepare, respond, and recover from outbreaks and pandemics such as COVID-19.

As the cleaning industry’s only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation, the MBCC’s GBAC STAR™ accreditation is yet another testament to the hospitality industry’s strong commitment towards the overall health and safety of its visitors. Under the guidance of GBAC (a division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association), the 1.4-million-square-foot facility has proven compliance with the program’s 20 core elements required for the accreditation. The core elements of the performance-based accreditation program varies from risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response measures.

The GBAC STAR™ empowers facilities and venues of all sizes and has the support of many leading industry organizations such as the International Facility Management Association and the Association of Exhibitions and Events, as well as Freeman + Go LIVE Together (a coalition of leaders from the live events industry that represent more than 4,000 companies with U.S. operations and 112 other countries).

The MBCC now joins the ranks of other nationally recognized GBAC STAR™ Facility Accreditation venues like the Hard Rock Stadium, home to the NFL’s Miami Dolphins and the Staples Center in Los Angeles, all of whom are setting the stage for a safe return to live events.

The MBCC is prepared to safely reopen for business!
