Miami Beach

Twist, known as the one of the best gay clubs in South Beach for many years, attracts loyal locals and international tourists. Located on Washington Avenue, their motto is their mantra, "Never a cover, always a groove, 7 nights a week, every week of the year". This Sobe staple is home to 7 different bars, each with its own different feel so you'll never get bored. Add in friendly bartenders, world-class DJs spinning blistering beats and some of the hottest dancers around and it makes Twist a go-to for at least one of your weekly nights out, if not more.

While you're still in the mood for some late night dancing you might want to hit up Score in Sobe just down the street from Twist on Washington Ave. Drop your straight friends off at Trade next door, so they can kick it to some deep house and trance while you are feeling your own vibe at Score. With events like Planeta Macho, BIGGER Saturdays (featuring Ru Pauls Drag Race Nina Flowers), The LAB Lounge Fridays or Club BOi, there is always a perfect night for you to experience.

When it comes to gay bars, don't even think of passing up the opportunity to check out Bar Gaythering located inside the Gaythering Hotel, just two blocks from Lincoln Road. Hang out at one of Yelp! 2017's top 10 gay bars in the United States while enjoying meticulously crafted (and very reasonably priced at only $11) cocktails like the "Milton Coupe" or " Alexander Beaverhausen" in either your swankiest or in beach shorts - you decide. There's something different going on every night of the week, from Karaoke Monday's hosted by Fantasia to Bears & Hares Fridays @ Gaythering. You will have to join in to appreciate it all.

The famous Palace South Beach has re-opened at the former Amarillo restaurant located at 1052 Ocean Drive & 11th Street. Now with a lot more outdoor seating for even larger crowds and a beautiful indoor bar and lounge you will have to make your way to the edge of the beach to spend an evening on Ocean Drive because as they say, every Queen needs a palace and this is it. World-renowned for its live drag shows, The Palace is the veteran establishment of the Miami LGBTQ community. Don't miss out on this night of entertainment and their renown weekend drag show brunch that will cure any Twist related hangover you may have.

          Wynwood

If you decide to make your way to the colorful Wynwood Arts District, Gramps is a gay-friendly and hip Wynwood dance spot to enjoy delicious local beers and fantastic cocktails. They play a variety of music ranging from rock to EDM. You can sit inside with the cranking AC or you can enjoy the natural breeze outside on the patio on a cooler night. Some nights they even have live bands and DJ’s to get you dancing once you walk through the door!

Every Sunday, RHouse holds its famous Drag Brunch hosted by Athena Dion named "Miss Ultimate Miami Drag Queen 2017" with performances by some of Miami's most talented drag divas. With a variety of brunch packages, you can choose to feast on not only a magnificent show but their brilliant brunch menu with optional bottomless mimosas or sangria – oh, who are we kidding – bottomless anything is a necessity!

A few other gay-friendly places to note near Wynwood Walls are Wood Tavern and Brick. These two are notorious gathering grounds for the LGBTQ community because they are a safe-haven to party and enjoy a drink or two. Next to Wood Tavern (and created by the same owner) is the Miami Mojito Company Pop-up. This place is a real hidden gem — a tiny tiki hut that only serves mojitos. You'll feel like you're at a beach bar instead of the heart of Wynwood art central as you sip a classic, passion fruit, tamarindo, blackberry or raspberry mojito, all made with fresh squeezed sugar cane (guarapo). Insider Tip: Many events in Miami have cover charges but you can always get in contact with a promoter. “Humans Alike” is a group of people who help promote upcoming events at Heart Nightclub and provide promotional codes to save money on the events. Who doesn’t want to save a few extra bucks? Don’t forget that most clubs have dress codes; make sure to call to find out and remember, always dress to impress. Check them out @Humansalike on Instagram.
