Tips to Enjoy Miami Beach

“I like to plan my Miami Beach day in advance. I always arrive early and choose places I can walk to so I can enjoy the peace on the beach without having to worry about transportation.”

Safety Tip: Miami Beach is a bucket list destination where people tend to forget about their inhibitions. Allow yourself to take in the vibrancy and culture of the city for a natural high and avoid getting into trouble. Remember, possession or consumption of narcotics is illegal.

Favorite Places to Visit

Planta Sobe inside

Find delicious vegan dishes in an incredible atmosphere

Planta South Beach

Planta has an incredible atmosphere. The style is greenhouse meets futuristic... and the interior design is impeccable. They have an unlimited margarita and mimosa option for brunch that I love! You must try the Nachos. They are vegan but you would never know. They are the best nachos I've ever had.

Enjoy inventive cocktails & delicious seafood in Stiltsville Fish Bar

Stiltsville Fish Bar

I always run into locals at Stiltsville Fish Bar, a modern-day seafood cookery located in the heart of Miami Beach’s Sunset Harbour neighborhood. It’s just an amazing laid-back restaurant with the tastiest buffalo fish wing appetizers that you won’t find anywhere else. The Smoked fish dip, Shrimp n’ grits, and Grilled mahi mahi sandwich are featured dishes that will have you licking your fingers after every bite. I’m also impressed by the top tier cocktails on their Key West style drink menu that matches my dining experience.

Phenomenal drinks come with a water view at Lido Restaurant & Bayside Grill

The Standard Spa, Miami Beach

The Standard Spa, Miami Beach has the most incredible view of the bay, especially at sunset. Its peaceful, tropical off-the-beaten-path setting just makes it the best place for a spa day. I enjoy the heated pool that plays music when you go underwater and the hydrotherapy spa with the roman waterfall hot tub to massage my tense shoulders. Their Turkish style hammam is where I go to meditate. Be sure you make a reservation for their popular Lido Bayside Grill – it has an amazing menu, and the drinks are phenomenal. The Standard Spa, Miami Beach is my zen spot, with a hint of turn up!

Mezcalista

Don't miss hidden speakeasy Mezcalista

Mezcalista at Moxy South Beach

Mezcalista is a hidden speakeasy style bar that I choose when I want to impress my friends from out of town. It's a little hard to find within the Moxy hotel located just behind Mexican marisquería Como Como. Once you're in you must try one of their Mezcal cocktails – the lounge offers over 200 types of mezcal with expert mezcaliers available to guide your sipping experience. Dress to impress at this super chic lounge with mezcal smokey cocktails!

Relax in the sunshine at 12th Street Pride Beach

12th Street Pride Beach

Just north of Lummus Park at 12th Street and Ocean Drive, 12th Street Pride Beach is easily recognizable by the gay flag fluttering at the entrance. On the weekends it's always fun to throw on a speedo, pop by, lay out, get some sun and see who's in town. I find it easy to socialize here, see how everyone's night was and see what's going on later. This beach is just steps away from the volleyball nets and Muscle Beach South Beach if you want to go get a workout in right after. Muscle Beach South Beach is an outdoor area for exercise, weightlifting and gymnastics, and features two nature-inspired installations: MyEquilibria’s Leopard Tree and MyBeast. These functional structures collectively feature over 30 workout components. The first of its kind to be featured in a public park in the United States, the installation of this high-end fitness equipment brings art and functionality to the beach and is accessible to visitors and residents alike. With the help of a free mobile phone application, fitness enthusiasts of all skill levels may engage in workouts through a series of available trainings and tutorials.
