Neptune Memorial Reef

Neptune Memorial Reef is an underwater memorial garden where cremated remains are mixed with cement to create features such as sea turtles, starfish and seashells. An artist’s conception of the Lost City of Atlantis, it has 15-foot-tall columns and five-ton arches, and bronze lions and gates. It will cover 16 acres of ocean floor when completed. Located 3 ¼ miles off the coast of Key Biscayne in 40 feet of water, it was named “The most prolific reef in Florida” and is a popular Miami dive site.
