Crandon Park: Key Biscayne’s Hidden Outdoor Gem

Crandon Park, an 800-acre oasis on Key Biscayne, was once part of the country’s largest coconut plantation. It was owned by South Florida industrialist William Matheson, whose family donated the land to the county in 1940 to create the park. Today, Crandon Park’s visitors are treated to a picturesque beach, golf course, tennis center, nature center and marina. Spend a day here enjoying kiteboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking and picnicking or simply relaxing in a postcard-perfect cabana.
