With its designer enclaves, indie boutiques, souvenir shops and gleaming malls, Greater Miami and Miami Beach is an exciting shopping destination.
If you’ve come to Miami to shop, you’re in the right place. From luxury flagships at lavish outdoor shopping centers to stylish boutiques, budget-friendly stores and the largest mall in Florida, this destination has whatever your heart desires when it comes to shopping.
Iconic Malls
Miami is also home to a wealth of classic shopping malls, such as Dadeland Mall, Miami International Mall, Dolphin Mall and the al fresco CityPlace Doral. For a true shopping extravaganza, check out Aventura Mall, the largest mall in Florida and voted Best Mall in the United States, where more than 300 retailers, a 93-foot tall sculptural slide tower and dining options that rival the hippest food halls await eager shoppers.
Open-Air Shopping
With warm, sunny weather all year and blue skies decorated with swaying palm trees, it’s no wonder there are so many al fresco malls and shopping districts in Miami. Bal Harbour Shops, which opened in 1965 in Bal Harbour, is Miami’s original indoor/outdoor luxury shopping destination. Anchored by Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, it’s home to beloved designer shops such as Chanel, Prada and Tiffany & Co.
In South Beach, Lincoln Road is a classic destination for shopping, people-watching and enjoying lunch at an outdoor cafe. In Downtown Miami, Bayside Marketplace overlooks Biscayne Bay. It’s a prime spot for souvenirs and fun things to do, including boat tours and the Skyviews Miami observation wheel. Also in Downtown Miami, you can shop, dine and enjoy views of the boats going by on the Miami River at the recently opened Shops of Miami River Landing.
In posh Coral Gables, the Miracle Mile Shopping District is home to a range of fine shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants. Farther south, in Pinecrest, The Falls is an open-air shopping center with lush tropical foliage and a million-gallon waterscape running through it.
Hip & Happening Shopping Spots
The Miami Design District has taken shape over the last decade with upscale boutiques ranging from Hermès to Cartier, all surrounded by a pastiche of cutting-edge architecture and interactive public art that transforms your shopping trip into an all-encompassing artistic experience.
Brickell City Centre is a high-design outdoor shopping center in the heart of the financial district, where a high-tech “climate ribbon” naturally cools the catwalks that lead to a mixture of high-end and approachable shops, from Giuseppe Zanotti to Zara and Sephora.
