MOCA Sunday Stories: Celebrating Haitian Heritage Month
This event has passed.
Celebrate Haitian Heritage Month with stories and art at MOCA.
Engage your little ones with a reading of Fanmi Mwen: My Family at the Sunday, May 5 installment of MOCA Sunday Stories. Written by authors Carline Smothers, Fuuji Takashi, Monique Jea Barthelus and Ruth Antoine, this interactive bilingual book is the first in the ZOE BEAUTEE little reader's series. The reading will be followed by a fun art project where participants can create their own unique family portrait inspired by Haitian artist Alexandra Antoine.
Sponsored by the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency, MOCA Sunday Stories is an early childhood program that fosters reading, motor skill development and socialization. Its also a great way for children to bond with their parents via a creative DIY art project.
