From concerts to an orchid show and a variety of festivals, May is brimming with an impressive line-up of events.
Miami Museum Month: May 1 – 31
Celebrating the city’s rich cultural history, participate in Miami Museum Month and experience your own “museum hop.” Participating museums like HistoryMiami, Miami Children’s Museum, Pérez Art Museum Miami and many more, are offering special deals throughout the month.
Brew at the Zoo: May 6
Throw a few cold ones back and enjoy live music at the Miami New Times’ and Zoo Miami’s annual Brew at the Zoo. From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., sample more than 100 kinds of beer from all around the world. General admission tickets start at $25 in advance and $40 at the door, and VIP tickets start at $80.
All Kids Included Family Arts Festival: May 6
Get ready for fun for the whole family! From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center is hosting the 11th edition of the All Kids Included Family Arts Festival, which will include art programming and activities for children with and without disabilities.
Taste of the Nation: May 12
Taking place at Soho Studios in Wynwood, the 29th edition of the annual Taste of the Nation event will once again bring together the Magic City’s top chefs, sommeliers and mixologists for a good cause: making sure all children in this country get the healthy food they need every day. From 7 to 10 p.m., attendees can sip and savor delectable drinks and plates by Miami’s best restaurants and bars, followed by a VIP after party at R House, from 10 p.m. to midnight. Proceeds from the event benefit No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in America. General admission starts at $125 per person.
Taste of Haiti: May 13
Taste a wide range of delectable Haitian cuisine at the Taste of Haiti at the MOCA Plaza in North Miami from 2 to 10 p.m. Enjoy authentic eats, live music, dancing and more. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. In lieu of admission prices, donations are accepted.
Mother's Day: May 14

Aqua Girl: May 18 - 21
A fun-filled event designed especially for the ladies, Aqua Girl is a week-long celebration of women, wellness and equality. Enjoy dance parties, live music, comedy shows, dining events and a VIP reception. Proceeds benefit the Aqua Foundation and go towards scholarships and grants promoting the LGBT community. Admission for the entire weekend starts at $75 per person.
Redland International Orchid Show: May 19 - 21
Head to the lushly landscaped Fruit and Spice Park in Homestead for one of the largest annual orchid shows in the country. The Redland International Orchid Show is a three-day event open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and featuring more than 50 booths of orchid vendors. Tickets are $10 per person.
Kings Bowl Doral Grand Opening: May 22
Kings Bowl Doral is an expansive bowling, dining and cocktail venue featuring 14 ten-pin bowling lanes, 4 private bowling lanes, a full-service upscale lounge The Rum Room, and The Flamingo Room with private dining and karaoke space. The first 200 visitors through the doors on opening day can win a free year of bowling (two games each month for a full year).
Best of the Best Concert: May 28
Enjoy an impressive musical line-up featuring bands performing hip-hop, reggae, pop and more at the annual Best of the Best concert at Bayfront Park during Memorial Day Weekend. General admission tickets are available for $49 and VIP tickets start at $135.
Memorial Day: May 29
Not only is Memorial Day a federal holiday dedicated to remembering those who gave their life while serving in the armed forces, it’s also the unofficial kick-off for summer vacation season!
