Music fans and history buffs won't want to miss the world premiere of Y Cómo Fue? Una Historia de Benny Moré (And How Was It? A Story of Benny Moré) on Saturday, May 18 at 8:30 p.m. at the Westchester Cultural Arts Center (WCAC).
Presented by ARCA Images and Miami-Dade County Auditorium, in partnership with the Roxy Theater, this show takes audiences on a musical journey through the life and legacy of Benny Moré, the legendary Cuban musician also known as the "King of Son."
Set in the glamorous atmosphere of a 1950s cabaret, the production features an evocative blend of music and storytelling. Venezuelan actor Franklin Virgüez portrays an old trumpeter whose life is forever changed by an encounter with Benny Moré.
The WCAC encourages attendees to dress in their finest attire, reminiscent of the era's elegance.
This concert is part of MDCA's Away From Home Series, a program of off-site performances during MDCA's renovation period.
