Storied Vizcaya: A Vizcaya Family Program
This event has passed.
Ignite your imagination and explore the power of storytelling at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens this May. Join Storied Vizcaya: A Family Program on Friday, May 3, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for a unique evening under the stars.
This program invites families to delve into Miami's history through captivating narratives by local storytellers. Listen to Michael Woodward Jr., an inspiring educator and children's author, and Dr. Dorothy Jenkins Fields, founder of The Black Archives, share their captivating stories. Engage in a fun "Guess Who" game and cozy up for a storytime session with the Miami-Dade Public Library.
Following the storytelling sessions, families are invited to unleash their creativity. Explore "Story Starters" and utilize Vizcaya's breathtaking beauty as inspiration to create original stories through writing or art.
The event also serves as a children's book drive in partnership with the Miami Book Fair. Donate any gently used baby books, first readers or picture books to the "Books for Free" bin on the waterfront East Terrace, giving the gift of stories to children in need.
