Miami Beach's Mid Beach and North Beach areas have range when it comes to live music.

While South Beach’s pulsing nightlife scene showcases world-class DJs and hip hop artists at its megaclubs and lounges, there’s also a thriving live music scene, especially if you drive a little farther north on Collins Avenue. From an amphitheater under the stars to swanky, speakeasy-style theaters inside lavish hotels, Mid Beach and North Beach have range when it comes to live music. You can expect to hear everything from salsa and big band to contemporary Grammy Award-winning artists and even a cabaret with a full cast of singers, dancers and musicians during a night out at one of these stellar live music venues.

North Beach Bandshell

The North Beach Bandshell is a classic destination for live music under the stars. Located directly on the beach, the amphitheater has a distinct Miami Modern (or MiMo) architectural charm. It’s managed by the Rhythm Foundation, which produces a wide variety of concerts featuring both local and touring musicians, and oftentimes the programming is free. It’s a great place to get a taste of Miami’s Latin and Caribbean culture through music with everything from salsa and soca to Afro-Cuban and funk. It’s a prime venue for jazz and international music, and it often hosts music festivals. 7275 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33141

Bleaulive Concert Series At Fontainebleau Miami Beach

The Fontainebleau Miami Beach presents its BleauLive Concert Series, with a nod to its 1950s heyday when Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack made the glamorous resort a prime live music destination. Past headliners include Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Pharrell and Pitbull. Each BleauLive concert is a little different, with performances held al fresco by the Fontainebleau pools or inside one of its ballrooms. Tickets can typically be purchased individually and there are often overnight packages and dinner-and-a-show reservations available. One thing is for certain, it’s always a good time inside this classic Miami Beach resort. 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33140

Faena Theater

The Faena Miami Beach is one of the newest and most exciting hotels on the scene. In fact, an entire six-block district has been named in its honor. The Faena District is inclusive of the hotel, luxury condominiums and the forthcoming Faena Forum arts center, Faena theater and shopping bazaar. With high-flying interiors, the hotel includes a sumptuous cabaret theater.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, their house production C’est Rouge goes up with a talented cast of dancers shimmying in a burlesque show that’s part Crazy Horse, part Moulin Rouge. It’s set to a live orchestra with a pair of male and female soloists crooning ballads in both English and Spanish.

The venue is also designed to host visiting musicians and it’s hosted R&B sensation Miguel and electronic music trio Miike Snow. When the Faena Forum is complete, it will be another venue in the district for live music, performance art and other creative exhibitions. 3201 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33140
