What's New This Fall
Published: August 31, 2025
Miami, FL – [September-November] – Sunshine and beautiful weather make fall one of the best times to experience Greater Miami & Miami Beach. This year, there’s a new place to stay, a variety of new restaurants to try and a lineup of vibrant cultural events.
New Hotels
A New Hotel In The Center of It All. Set to open under the Hyatt banner in early November and now taking reservations, the 147-room Thompson Miami Beach in South Beach has a prime location on 17th Street and Washington Avenue, a few blocks from the beach, the New World Center and the Miami Beach Convention Center. The hotel stands out for its curving architectural design by renowned French architect Rudy Ricciotti, while guest rooms and suites boast floor-to-ceiling windows and private terraces. There’s also a restaurant and rooftop pool.
New Attractions & Museum Exhibits
A Renaissance Genius at Frost Science. Peep inside the brilliant mind of Renaissance thinker and painter Leonardo da Vinci at Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Downtown Miami. The new interactive exhibit “Leonardo da Vinci - 500 Years Of Genius” opens October 4 and runs through April 5, 2026. The show will feature rare artifacts, life-size reproductions of da Vinci’s machines, inventions and art and a 360-degree replica of his famous Mona Lisa painting.
Triple the Art. Visitors will have the opportunity to see three new exhibits at Pérez Art Museum Miami in Downtown Miami this fall. “El Monte,” by Miami-born identical twin photographers Elliot and Erick Jiménez, explores Afro-Caribbean spirituality and runs through March 22, 2026. From October 2, experience the late Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez’ immersive installation “Chromosaturation,” featuring three chambers saturated in color. And “coming forth by day,” opening November 13, showcases new wood sculptures and wall works by Miami artist Woody De Othello.
Where The Wild Things Are. Watch out for the wildlife on the Lincoln Road outdoor pedestrian shopping mall in South Beach: three striking bronze sculptures by acclaimed artist duo Gillie and Marc, who are known for their animal-human hybrid characters. Stop for photos in front of “The Wild Couch Party,” a bronze couch filled with a menagerie of seated creatures, and “Watch Out for Paparazzi Dog” and “Watch Out for Paparazzi Rabbit,” sculptures of a hybrid rabbit and a hybrid dog holding a camera. The exhibits will be on-view until July 2026.
Celebrate 40 Years of Miami City Ballet. Miami City Ballet's milestone 40th season, under the helm of new Artistic Director Gonzalo Garcia, features eight programs and kicks off with “Peck: Miami In Motion,” by Tony Award–winning choreographer Justin Peck, at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, Oct. 17-19. Ballet meets pop in this triumvirate of performances that includes what’s billed as a street-wise love letter to the Wynwood Arts District.
New In Food & Drink
Not Your Typical Sushi Restaurant. At Japanese grab-and-go newcomer Aiko, everything is made fresh daily with fish flown in from Japan. What’s truly unique about this Coconut Grove hot spot is that its refined omakase is available for takeout, plus there are pre-packed sushi boxes and popular sandos like the chicken katsu and ton-katsu (panko-encrusted pork). While Aiko does take in-person orders, you can also pre-order online the night before. Evenings, the space transforms into Mumu, an Asian bistro.
A Slice of New York In South Beach. Joe’s Pizza, the beloved New York City counter-serve slice joint, is now serving its famous pies in South Beach, just off Lincoln Road on Meridian Avenue. Bite into their authentic New York-style pizza, including classic cheese, pepperoni, meat lovers’, veggie and other specialty pies. There’s a second location in Wynwood.
We All Scream For This Ice Cream. The beloved scoop shop Lily’s Handmade Ice Cream has opened a new location at Biscayne Commons in North Miami Beach. The family-run store serves up whimsical flavors like the Dusty Monkey and the South Florida Swamp, crafted with all-natural ingredients. You’ll also find gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options.
For The Love Of Pasta. Pasta lovers have a new go-to spot at Pasta and Juliet in Brickell. Look for al dente pastas made with fine ingredients, everything from spaghetti Bolognese to spicy vodka rigatoni and fettucine carbonara. They also serve inventive pizzas with unique toppings like truffle and pear, pesto and rosemary honey.
Enjoy a Caribbean Celebration. Las’ Lap, inside The Daydrift hotel in South Beach, celebrates the spirit of the Caribbean with James Beard Award-winning Chef Kwame Onwuachi’s unique twists on Cuban, Jamaican, Haitian and Trinidadian cuisine. Think oxtail, pimento-smoked chicken wings, grilled lamb, griot and more.
The Dive Bar Is Back. One of Miami’s most popular dive bars, Las Rosas Miami in Allapattah, just west of Wynwood, has been resurrected after a three-year closure. Die-hard fans and newcomers will find cold beer, graffiti-filled walls, pool tables and the signature glowing neon rose sign. Of course, the main attractions are still the live music and the eclectic crowd.
New In Cruising
Cunard In The Caribbean. Cunard's Queen Elizabeth will mark its first full season in the Caribbean, with nine-to-21-night cruises sailing out of PortMiami beginning October 16. The cruises will make stops in numerous ports, including the Dominican Republic, Cozumel, San Juan, St. Lucia, Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, St. Maarten and more.
New In Air Travel
A New Way To Escape the Cold North. Tourists living in Iceland who are looking to take a warm break now have a new way of getting to Miami. Starting October 25, Icelandair is offering direct nonstop flights from Reykjavik (KEF) to Miami International Airport (MIA) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with return flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
New In Meetings & Events
Top Sports Conference. One of the sports industry’s leading global B2B events, Sports Summit USA 2025, will take place Oct. 8-9 at loanDepot park in Little Havana.
