Stay At Miami’s Newest Hotels This Summer
There are always new and newly renovated hotels in Miami. At the newly minted Gale Miami Hotel & Residences, located in Downtown Miami and near PortMiami, expect perks like a massive fitness center, a pool deck with sweeping views of Biscayne Bay, and even access to a private beach club in Miami Beach.
If you’re into street art and murals, Moxy Miami Wynwood, scheduled to open in September, is the new cool kid in Wynwood. Located a block from the outdoor street museum Wynwood Walls, the hotel matches the creativity of the neighborhood with a high-tech lobby video wall, interesting work-play areas and Bar Moxy, where you’ll want to stop for a free cocktail at check-in.
Getting Around Is a Breeze
A new convenient way to get around is Tri-Rail’s new express service that reduces travel time between Miami and West Palm Beach by more than 30 minutes. The 5:35 p.m. northbound train from Downtown Miami stops at the Metrorail Transfer Station in Hialeah, Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and Boca Raton before arriving in West Palm Beach. The southbound train from West Palm Beach departs daily at 6:30 a.m.
Explore New Attractions
There’s more to do on Lincoln Road in South Beach than shop and eat. Now, as part of the Harmonics installation, children and adults can play oversized musical instruments, including chimes and xylophones.
As if Jungle Island wasn’t already cool enough with its array of animal experiences and shows, now guests who pay for admission can cool off at Jungle Splash. At this inflatable water park, you’ll shoot down water slides, splash around in refreshing pools and climb on a fun-filled playground.
Meant to spark ecological awareness, Spirit in the Land is a contemporary art exhibit at Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM). The works of 30 artists showcase endangered natural environments so as to strengthen our connection with nature and explore how we can achieve a better future. The exhibit at the Downtown Miami museum runs through September 8.
Live out your astronaut dreams at the the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Downtown Miami, where the Journey To Space exhibit is running until October 6. Through interactive experiences, you’ll learn about the challenges astronauts face in space (like eating and sleeping) and even climb aboard a replica of the Destiny Lab to experience a simulated zero-gravity environment.
The typical boundaries of art are being pushed at Balloon Museum: Let’s Fly, an exhibition of inflatable and colorful artwork at Mana Wynwood in Wynwood until October 6. Think aerial installations, a kaleidoscopic fountain and ethereal bubbles that will blow your mind and imagination.
Grab your pink Inter Miami jersey for The Messi Experience, a high-tech, interactive exhibition of international soccer star Lionel Messi’s life, career and World Cup glory. Through September 11, the family-friendly experience at The Hangar at Regatta Harbour in Coconut Grove walks fans through nine installations of cool digital screens and videos and physical games where you can play like the pro.
Discover Miami’s Exciting, Ever-Changing Culinary Scene
For food lovers, this is an exciting time to be in Miami. An impressive 14 MICHELIN Star restaurants can be enjoyed throughout the destination, including L’Atelier du Joël Robuchon, the only two-starred restaurant in Florida. For quality meals at wallet-friendly prices, make a reservation at one of the 18 MICHELIN Bib Gourmand restaurants in the area. Even the James Beard Foundation is taking note, recognizing these Miami restaurants for their culinary excellence. One of North Miami Beach’s historic waterfront restaurants, Blue Marlin Fish House, located in Oleta River State Park, recently relaunched with a new menu of seafood favorites along with kayak and paddleboard rentals.

New Places To Play in Miami
Pickleball lovers have a new place to play and mingle. Sip & Pickle, Miami’s first pickleball social club, is located in the open-air Wynwood Marketplace. There are five courts for open play or tournaments along with food and craft cocktails.
Also causing a racquet: a new member’s only Reserve padel club that matches the luxury of its surroundings in the Miami Design District. (In case you don’t know, padel resembles tennis but is played on a smaller court with walls.) The facility impresses, with three glass-enclosed padel courts along with a pro shop where you can buy premium padel gear and Reserve-branded apparel.

There’s a new spa in Brickell. Leaf Spa at Hotel AKA Brickell is all about natural, holistic treatments and wellness based around the seasons. After your treatment, you can use amenities like the sauna, steam room, meditation area and pool.
Getting To Miami Has Never Been Easier
New flights to Miami are soaring, particularly for those on a budget. The low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines added a new direct flight to Miami International Airport (MIA) from Charlotte, North Carolina, operating three times a week. Another exciting addition: The German-based leisure carrier Condor Airlines has launched year-round nonstop service from Frankfurt to MIA.
Miami Welcomes All With New Inclusivity, Accessibility & Sustainability Features
On the accessibility side, American Airlines and Envoy Air passengers traveling through MIA with mobility limitations now have access to ten new self-driving wheelchairs. After punching in their desired destination on a touch screen, the autonomous chairs will transport customers to their gate.
