Painting with Natural Indigo : A Workshop
Jun 12, 2025
Two sessions: 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM
Experience a creative and hands-on evening of textile art at the next Agriculture Night, where you'll paint a personalized throw pillow case using natural indigo pigment and soy milk. This workshop, led by textile designer and natural dyer Verónica Buitrón, offers an opportunity to learn the art of indigo dyeing while creating a one-of-a-kind piece. No prior experience is needed—just come ready to explore and create with the natural, chemical-free materials provided.
Throughout the session, Verónica will guide you through the process of pretreating fabric, mixing indigo pigment and making your own long-lasting, eco-friendly textile paint. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful plant and flower arrangements in the museum's gardens, you'll have the chance to design your pillow case with your personal motifs.
The event takes place on Thursday, June 12 with two sessions: one from 6 - 7 p.m. and the other from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Vizcaya Village.
Materials provided include indigo pigment, soy milk, fabric for pillow cases and all necessary tools for dyeing.
