An Evening with Gene Pressman and Elysze Held
Nov 19, 2025
Starting: 7:00 PM
Fashion history and cultural legacy take center stage as Gene Pressman, co-CEO and creative director of Barneys New York, discusses his memoir They All Came to Barneys: A Personal History of the World’s Greatest Store at Books & Books in Bal Harbour Shops.
Taking place Wednesday, November 19 in the Center Courtyard, the event features a conversation between Pressman and Miami’s own fashion icon Elysze Held. Together, they’ll explore the rise and fall of Barneys New York, from its origins as a modest Seventh Avenue shop to its transformation into a global symbol of style and influence.
Through Pressman’s insider perspective, They All Came to Barneys captures the evolution of fashion, culture, and retail innovation across decades, offering a front-row view into the world of designers, tastemakers and the era-defining glamour of New York’s fashion scene.
Tickets are required and include one copy of the book (Viking, $32), distributed upon entry. The event will be held outdoors in the Bal Harbour Shops Center Courtyard (Level 1).
