If you're an artist or creative professional interested in immersive storytelling, this seminar offers an opportunity to learn from leading figures in the field. The Miami Immersive Intensive invites performers, directors, producers and writers to gather for a hands-on, four-day experience in the heart of Downtown Miami.
Taking place from June 26-29, this inaugural event will bring together artists and companies who are shaping the future of immersive and site-specific experiences. Participants can expect a dynamic, interactive environment that moves beyond traditional workshops, offering practical insights and creative challenges. Sessions will be held at various locations, including the Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus and other downtown spaces.
Thursday, June 26:
The event kicks off with a keynote from MiKhael Tara Garver of Culture House Immersive, followed by an outing to Drift at the Frost Museum of Science, a multimedia immersive work. Light bites and networking will follow the keynote.
Friday, June 27:
Participants will engage in an Immersive Involvement Training with MiKhael Tara Garver. Later, Lauren Storr of Punchdrunk will lead a session titled From Sleep No More to Viola's Room, where she will share insights on producing large-scale immersive experiences. The day will conclude with a workshop by Octavio Campos on The Sacred Art of Interruption, exploring disruption as a methodology in immersive theater.
Saturday, June 28:
The day begins with Coffee and VR with O Cinema, followed by a masterclass on Immersive Creation and Transmedia Storytelling with Le Clair Obscur. In the afternoon, France-Luce Benson will lead a workshop on immersive playwriting, focusing on transforming the past through interactive storytelling. The day wraps up with Tanya Bravo’s case study on producing immersive theater, specifically Miami Motel Stories, followed by a guided decompression lab by Octavio Campos.
Sunday, June 29:
The intensive continues with a creativity workshop from Alexandra Renzo, exploring the communal magic of making. Pioneer Winter will lead a site-specific movement workshop, and visionary artist Natasha Tsakos will close the event with a keynote on storytelling in outer space. The intensive wraps up with farewell cocktails.
