Join an insightful virtual evening with Isabel Allende, one of the world’s most widely read authors, as she celebrates the release of her latest book Mi nombre es Emilia del Valle. On Thursday, May 29 at 7 p.m., Allende will be in conversation with renowned journalist and author Jorge Ramos, discussing the themes of love, war and reinvention featured in her new novel.
The story follows Emilia del Valle, a woman who overcomes immense challenges and transforms herself through resilience. Set in 1866 San Francisco, Emilia's journey includes her work as a journalist, her involvement in the civil war in Chile and her search for her identity.
Presented by Books & Books and the Miami Book Fair, this event provides an opportunity to hear directly from Allende. In addition to the conversation, the event will explore the intricacies of Mi nombre es Emilia del Valle, a continuation of her Del Valle saga.
Isabel Allende was born in Peru and raised in Chile. A novelist, feminist and philanthropist, she has sold over 80 million copies of her books in 42 languages, with works including La casa de los espíritus, Eva Luna, Paula and Violeta. Her writing has earned her critical acclaim worldwide, and she has received numerous honors, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2014. Allende is also a dedicated human rights advocate and continues to inspire through her literary contributions and activism.
